insane. i thought she sounded unconfident with her comments,"im just trying to complete all the events" but medalling in 2 track races and then WINNING the Olympic marathon on a difficult course. GOAT women's distance runner?

and what a way to do it, fight back into the the lead group, then literally fight to hold her position down the stretch, amazing.

Hassan with the OR after all that. Absolute legend
So somehow this course has delivered both Olympic records
LINDWURM IN 12TH!!! An amazing ascension for someone who didn't make the state meet in high school!
Assefa goes fully airborne to try and pin Sifan to the fence. Sifan just bounces off, recovers, and then is desperately trying to figure out which way the course goes on the last two turns so she can hold it the line.
WILD.
Incredible feat by Hassan. Just Incredible.
It looked like Assefa made a couple of questionable obstructive moves the last minute. One was egregious. Fortunately Hissan had the strength to stay upright and outkick
Lindwurm 12th in 2:26:44
Tim Rowberry needs to be interviewed about Sifan’s training for this epic achievement.
Impressive solo running by the Japanese Suzuki to finish close to the leaders.
Wrong Paul. Gabby Thomas has 3 medals
This is the greatest track and field feat since Usain bolt. I don't see this being done again in the next 20-40 years years. 5/10 podium, marathon gold
GOAT

Yeah, she ran great. Much like Conner and Clayton.
Also, how about that second half from Suzuki. God is that woman tough.

Not what happened. Assefa was running the tangents as the leader ought to do and Hassan passed on the inside of the turn, shouldering her way through. In fairness to both, the course had a really stupid design with a series of quick left, right, left, right turns in the last 400

Goat period. She is a world champion 1500 runner, multiple Olympic gold medalist, medaled in the 10 ONLY 36 hours ago and just won the marathon in OR time. She took down the absolute best marathoners, all fresh. C’mon. There has been nothing like this in the history of the sport. She’s the overall goat.

GOAT
i mean it only took 70 years to equal a man (or something close to 70)

That sounds like a dirty move to me

Drop the Women's and you'd still be right
