he would outkick Centro 2016 rio with half decent positioning. don't believe for one moment there is anybody he can't outkick over 400 meters, at ANY PACE
Jakob just broke 3:27, he ran 3:26.73 and made it look easy beating the field by 2 seconds. He's in world record shape for the 1500, right now. Boy did he look good. He seemed much fresher than the 3:43 plus mile from last year. I think he is in the best shape of his life. Watch out world!
Jakob said it’s going to be a walk in the park if he’s healthy. Maybe he’s right. I think he’s just too confident to heed the advice of any pundits. He remains convinced that if he’s healthy he can lead from the front and smash everybody. I doubt he’s taking any lesson from Eugene or Budapest beyond, just get fitter and stronger.
It's funny how people say stuff like 'woah, Kerr will be crapping himself' - as if this isn''t the exact same status going into the last two major championships too.
Ingy's fanboys can't distinguish a rabbited run from a real championship race.
As good of a season as he’s still having within the context of American distance running, he just doesn’t seem in quite the same form as he was last year (ie Pre Classic).
Jakob put on an absolute show. Just manhandled some of the world’s best on that last lap. Kerr is not winning a race like that.
It just kinda showed you that Nuguse and Hoare just aren’t there yet. That race was like Hull vs Kipyegon. If Yared was in the shape he got to last year he’d have run 3:27hi-3:28mid. Komen beat him but he ran further back and kicked. Tim was just fitter than Yared which is a shock.
Diamond League 1500 with 2 pacers, and Olympic 1500 with three rounds and zero pacers are almost as different as the 100m and the 110m hurdles. I actually do still have Kerr as the favorite if Jakob doesn't find a better tactic.
Jakob was ill at the time. The Olympic Champ Jakob will repeat for sure and win the 5k as well. This will be his greatest year ever and he's still only 23 :)
