Pretty cool to hear Steve Cram announcing the beating of his own British record after 39 years on BBC. Handled it in very classy fashion.

I’d love to see Nuguse get over the line but he never closes. He never makes a move. I want to see him take more risks.
He’s like a permanent time-trialer.

Run back in. Runners do it all the time . He had a good opening right behind Hocker to do so
Or this. Dont just throw in the towel. Have some fight in you.
17 year old Myers 3:50.15 impressive
Jakob’s looking pretty happy overall running around the track and chatting with people
Shiiiiiiiiiiiiit!!! Josh Kerr from the front! Amazing win and laying down a marker to the field. But... Jakob with 3:45 on his first race of the year? Ominous.
Nice to see Wightman, Gourley and Hoare get their olympic Q's. Statement from Wightman: he's back and in the medal hunt
Looks like cooper got tripped with 550 to go. Don’t think this is a reflection of his fitness
Beamish in 3:49.09 bodes really well for the Steeple. He even beat Ollie -- next CoffeeClub pod should be fun.
Neil Gourley in the best shape of his life after a bad winter derailed by injury. 3:47 for 4th.
Pretty sure Jakob is VERY satisfied with this race. Almost directly from altitude training, and still second just behind Kerr. Give him 2 more weeks of track intervals and he is where he wants to be. BUT, kudos to Kerr, winning like Jakob use to do. Gonna be a hell of a battle between them this season!
Credit to Kerr, that was impressive. I really do not like the guy but I respect him for taking it on and pushing for a fast time. Happy to see Jakob running well after injury and really grateful to both for showing up. Hope we get to see these two race again before Paris.
Nice day for the Three Lions
Jakobs first race since last September and he runs 3:45. I would say that’s more impressive than Kerr taking the win.

Needed a national record to beat a Jakob in his first race of the season after coming back from injury
Yeah, I root for Kerr, but Jakob is going to be dangerous in Paris. Can’t wait for the rematch of the rematch.

Dude, she ran the 200M which she is not good at because she's too short. You people should stick to your long distance races.
Beamish ran 3:49.09…John Walker’s 3:49.08 Kiwi record survives another day.
Incredible 2024 opener for Gourley in 4th, 3:47.74.
Quick take right after: Jakob looked very comfortable holding onto Kerr the last 200. No strain. He definitely did not reveal if and what his next gear looks like because he never fought for passing position. He looked happy, thumbs up right after and I think rightfully so - season opener, after an injury - I'd be happy too. Kerr won today, but I still have Jakob as winning in Paris.
well done kerr

I will admit that Jakob was clearly beat and I don't think he could've won, at all... But it almost looked like he didn't even try to win the last 100m? He never moved wide, at all, and looked calm and content (double thumbs up) getting 2nd. Again, don't think he could've won, but it almost looked like he wanted to use Kerr (or anyone) to time trial this/break the wind?
(Third time disclaimer: I don't think he could've won today)
yeah I'm all for Kerr beating him, but if anything this result made me more worried about Jakob in Paris
1) I didnt expect him to be in that kind of shape already
2) Kerr wasnt pulling away from him - I expect with all the time until Paris, Jakob will make another step up....
