Hi Mike! You can go back to gazing at your navel now and taking selfies, because we know you aren't going to run a 3:11 and collect $200K!
Can the Rossi kids please go back to their thread.
Everything does not revolve around Mike Rossi outside your little world.

What would be conclusive proof for you?
Let me try to explain this is small bites for you so perhaps you can comprehend. There were questions raised when someone went to run with Robert and while the RV was traveling slowly, lo and behold, Robert was nowhere to be seen.
Those questions got folks looking into other aspects of this run and Robert's previous claims. Everywhere they look, more questionable data and claims are found.
So, Robert was asked to provide some supporting data. But all he and his supporters will provide is character references, or obsfucation. They won't provide GPS data, won't upload data. They will provide bits and pieces of meaningless data however, or provide meaningless answers to questions (e.g. He ran a 5:47 mile recently in response to proof of his reported 10k PR of sub-31).

That thread has gotten boring after a year. This is where the action is. You only have to make room for 12 of us.
so the answer is NO, there is no conclusive proof. Just guesses, speculation and stalking.

Why don't you read the thread like everyone else?
How is this guy so chunky? I am the same age as him, run only slightly more miles in a week than he claims to average a day for the begging of his run, and yet I'm probably 20-30 lbs lighter. How many calories a day does this guy have to be eating to stay that chunky after already having run 2,000+ miles?
Looks like the Rob Young devotees have found their way to LetsRun..
Does this Great and Powerful Laz not understand that we really don't need to know whether not RY is cheating now? We really need to have him upload his GPS data for the miraculous segments earlier in the run. And now I hear that he is advising RY not to post his data?
What a friggin' dolt.

I have read the entire thread and I see no conclusive proof. Just alot of weirdos with theories and accusations.

At least he makes sure he's doing the miles. That is what it's comes down to, to see if he can churn out the miles despite getting more fatigued every day. He was supposedly used to running a Marathon a day, now he has to run at least 2 to get anywhere close to that record. For 2 weeks more.

When claiming any kind of athletic achievement, it's incumbent upon the person claiming the feat to have proof that they ran the full distance. That's why we have course certification rules, rules about how races can be timed, etc.
Unfortunately in the ultra running community there seems to be an emphasis on "feats" which are involve some kind of story about a personal journey (and therefore not subject to rules and verification). And that's OK, but until there are rules and a ratification process that the larger community trusts, it never really makes the transition from being a "story" to a verified accomplishment (especially when it's the case that we have reason to doubt the storytellers fidelity to the truth to begin with)

I fully understand that and I get the concern over times etc
But the rest of it us just plain odd and borderline obsessive/stalking. Even the video is a joke and it's clear it is RY.

I think you accurately describe the difference in mentality here.
Good Morning.
Has anyone taken up the offer that Rob's crew extended of giving the phone number of the stranger that allowed Rob to use his cell phone while left alone in Emporia during the Mr G's car wash video controversy? Also the Bar maid too? A call to this guy could be conclusive to see if this version is legit. Also, a call to this guy might reveal a lame attempt to craft a phony cover up too. A call to the bar maid will reveal which tavern and give a time stamp and we can see how it compares with the time of the Mr G's video.
Additionally if the crew suddenly choses to not give this number after telling us they would that would be telling too.
Laz seems to be the one to ask for such a request.

Laz doesn't care about letsrun and its members.

If Rob Young made a contribution to get people running parkruns etc: good. It doesn't mean that the non-devotees cannot have a critical look at some of the claims that have been made by him or his team.
OK - SO per RY web site and predicted arrival time table, he is apparently 3 days off schedule now. For the math wiz's here - how does this effect his record attempt to get to NYC? How many miles per day does he need to do in order to make it to NYC to get the record?
I have been watching his progress as I may go visit the ol' boy when he gets closer but his slow ass is screwing up my schedule!
Wish he would have just stayed in the RV while ol' dusty drove him and tweeted about how GREAT RY is. Gosh, this sounds eerily familiar to the dane r cheat -
http://baitman.blogspot.com/2013/12/dickstarter.html?m=1
- at least dane only did it for 202 miles.
"It's clear it is RY."
In what parallel universe are you living? A guy in black with no reflective strips at night carrying what (given that it appears to throw no light on the ground) looks like a mobile phone in his hand walking extremely slowly for someone supposedly early in a day of running for the record across America is clearly RY? This is why Asher asked Rob and his team for details of what he was supposed to be wearing, only for them to provide nothing until after they had seen the video. It certainly doesn't strike me as likely that it is RY, at that pace in those clothes, at that point in his run so far behind the support vehicle that was itself travelling far too slow given he wasn't there. The excuses coming from the team look desperate, they make no logical sense.

Well said.
It's putting the square peg of a personal journey into the round hole of a record. It's not verified by any athletic federation but they want record recognition from a beer company that compiles quirky accomplishments. That's fine, but if you're going to emphasize the record part of it, it better stand up to scrutiny.
