Lawyer Kenneth Chesebro pleaded guilty to a felony on Friday just as jury selection was getting underway in his trial on charges accusing him of participating in efforts to overturn Donald Trump’s loss in the 2020 election in...
I suppose we have to see what the terms are, but that looks astounding. Of immediate interest, is how much this is tied to any talks he is having with the Feds who have labeled Cheese as "Co-Conspirator 5" with Donald Trump and the gang.
All the Simps are lining up to rat on the Orange Turd! This is going to be awesome.
I am really surprised that he copped to a felony. I hadn't known that he was in his early 60s; even so, he might have had many more years of legal work/income ahead. I can only think that his lawyer(s) got a chance to see the case against him and convinced him that this plea deal was his best option among several unpalatable choices.
A felony guilty plea is ordinarily fatal for a lawyer's remaining a member of the bar. And I think we can safely assume that, even were he to be returned to the White House, President Trump would not be motivated to offer Chesebro a pardon that potentially could restore him to lawyering. Ding dong, career dead.
My next question: Which of the other GA defendants are now going to ask for an early trial date, so they can beat the rush and get the less onerous plea deals? How many will be left at the originally scheduled trial date?
Per what Commode Flusher posted yesterday, Chesebro turned down a similar deal last month. Ding dong the cheese went down.
Interesting proceedings. At 9:49 -- the moment that enormous American history is made -- a president's attorney pled guilty and admitted to facts, under oath, which show a conspiracy with the US president (D. Trump) to create and file false and fraudulent electoral certificates in a national presidential election.
Kind of feel bad for the guy. He's not a devious, lying, jagoff criminal like Trump, Eastman, Giuliani and several others involved in this. He seems like just a legal geek/wonk that got caught up in the moment. With that felony plea to Count 15, there will be no more practicing law for him ever.

This is a plea in a Georgia state law case, so Trump wouldn't be able to pardon Chesebro. Of course, he might offer to do so because one very consistent thing about Trump is that he knows very little about the law.
You don't really need AdultInHisRoom here to know what he's going to post in defense of Trump. Just go back and read the canned list of stuff from his last post.
HAHA! And just like with Powell yesterday, it's been over 2 hours and Fox can't publish anything about this enormous development in American political and criminal history, because the lawyers are still messing around with the draft article on Chesebro.

You have to wonder what is going on in other swing states like Michigan and Arizona. This racketeering fake elector con was going on in all these states. With these guys pleading and giving up the game, how many other states will seek justice? Or maybe they just take a pass?

Plea deals aren't free. He had to have something to offer. Donald is screwed, he's not gonna be in a position to pardon anyone.
I did a little more research. Turns out that Chesebro, if he fulfills *all* the conditions of his deal, can have his guilty plea expunged under Georgia's First Offender policy...so he *might* then be able to rejoin the bar.*
This would just be further incentive for him to cooperate completely with the prosecutors.
*State bars are inconsistent, and some might decline to reinstate him, regardless of his having the felony plea expunged.
In less publicized news, Trumps NDAs for his 2016 campaign workers have been ruled invalid by a federal district court judge, so I would expect some interesting new stories to come out, or a few books.

The Michigan Attorney General's office says a Michigan Republican accused of participating in a fake elector plot had his case dismissed Thursday after a cooperation agreement was reached.
Trump: "Never heard of him. Kenny the Cheese Boy. Awful person. Very, very dishonest. I fired him. Ugly wife. The election was stolen. So very stolen."

He just conspires with devious, lying, jagoffs
I don't have much sympathy for him either. Working with Trump and others to present fake electors to cheat the voters is pretty low.
