Jakob wins so easily. Arguably ran a very bad tactical race. Totally trapped when the break came. But it just didn’t matter.

Jess Hull's really freaks me out with that odd smile and that high pitched voice, I don't think she's on drugs I genuinely think she's just an android.
They should have allowed Aregawi or Kejelcha. Atleast They would have made a very fast race.
Jakob probably would break the wr if he tried, is certainly one of the three greatest 5000 championship runners ever, and it brings him so little satisfaction. Like he’s the greatest of all time at an event he doesn’t love. His vision for himself, doesn’t match with his reality. It’s tragic in a way for him.
I kind of lol'ed when they said the women's 1500 is next and started with a shot of NH.
Stellar performance by Grant.
You’re watching the wrong stream. They didn’t take the camera of fisher on nbc.
Like Jacob tried in the 1500m
Jakob I is unbeatable in the 5k. He is the greatest 5k runner of all time. He literally made that 5 km look like he was out for a Sunday job. That is why Kiplimo and Cheptegei wanted no parts of this race. Jakob maybe hasn't gotten it just right in the Championships events 1500m since Tokyo, but in the 5,000 he has been PERFECT!

Has an American man ever medaled in both the 5/10 at the Olympics before ?
Shorter came to my mind, which isn't the answer at all--gold in marathon/5th in 10,000 in '72.

So what's the deal with the Africans? Great finish by Grant but whitey actually dusting them in the final straight? That would never have happened up til recently - is it the increased testing? Do they not care as much anymore?
Half of Kenya is currently suspended by the AIU is part of it
You have three guys, one of which has the second fastest 5000m time ever. Assuming he is even 95% as good as when he did that time a few months ago surely the only valid strategy is to go for it like the 10000m race, especially with Jakob in the race.
I honestly think that the Ethiopia team didn't want to pace the race hard like they did during the 10000m because they didn't want to risk getting nothing out of it and looking like idiots for leading everyone out, but the alternative is a certain loss. Not a rational race strategy at all.
"something hasn't quite clicked for Tsegay these championship" - yeah, her EPIPEN... :D

And now insult to the injury in the 1500 in 5min.... I have stopped hoping. I am rooting for Kenya now!
Yeah, Tsegay looking off. A Top 3 would be a suprise.
Literally who is Sottile?
TEST HIM.
Only 53.99 for Jakob…. Mo would’ve won that
Did I see Mills try and take Hugo Hay out of the race? Bit of revenge from the Britisher bruiser?
Barshim looks goods.
Welteji will be in it..
