No excuses. He did a horrible lap. But likely due to focus on kerr and he tried ti keep it fast to avoid kerr kick

Courtney Wayhot 😍
W steeple is cooking. Constein and Wayment started out with sub-3 first K, but well off the back now at 2k. Let's see if the front group craters.
I still can't understand Chemutai's Charlie Chaplin heel kick hurdle technique
Hocker turned the 1500 into the 15/16 mile. WTF IS A KILOMETER???
Ingy raced stipid but props for trying at least. Could see he was dying when he kept checking his shoulder with 200 to go.
Thought Hocker was done when he tried to pass on the inside with 150 to go and failed. Looked like Goose was gonna pass him for a second.
Pretyy much a great race for everyone not named Jakob and not from Kenya. Hobbs sub 3:30!!! Goose races smart!
Just want to pop in here quickly for a victory lap. Been saying Hocker is underrated by LR for well over a year now.
Absolutely gutted for Jakob though... always easier to win when you aren't expected to.
laros and kessler in the background of the victory shot is amazing foreshadowing
This message board is wigging out and giving me error messages. Pop ups are blocked.
how do you stop it?
I thought Constien might have an outside look at a medal. She was out of it early.
Completely disagree. He was the fastest guy in the field by PR with arguably the worst kick. He ran a gutsy strategy that arguably maximized his chances to win, and he ran to win or go bunk. He ended up going bunk. Fortune favors the bold, and he ran boldly. There was a worst case scenario where with so much talent in this race, nobody would want to take it out, and we end up with yet another 3:36 snooze fest like we used to get stuck with. Jakob ran unpredictably, and we got an all-timer of a race out of it.
Win or lose, Jakob makes this event exciting, and better for the sport.
W Steeple going to be FAST!!
This was the best 1500m I have ever witnessed.
My favorite moments:
The fact that he did it in Olympic record time makes it even better. Did anyone think he had an Olympic record gold in him?
I've been saying all along that Jakob's arrogance and lack of respect for the competition would create motivated monsters. Such an unforced error but I don't like the little pompous ahole and go USA USA USA. 3 of those monsters he created came out tonight to buttfk him good.
I think it’s fair to say that this Olympic 1500 was the greatest distance racing accomplishment in USA history. There have been other golds, but not with this level of competition and at this pace and with all of the hype, and then we won bronze too. The only thing stopping this from perfection would be that Nuguse did not outlean Kerr.
That was race! Of course my Peacock froze about 15 seconds in, but I just watched it about 5 minutes late.
I am gratified that neither Ingebrigtsen nor Kerr won that race, because they're more than a little extra. Congrats to Hocker and Nuguse!
I think it's time for Ingebrigtsen to do that therapy thing that American stars are always droning on about where they supposedly learn that their personal self-worth is not merely a product of their athletic performance, and then they can live with themselves.
Imagine in 2029 reading an application for dentist school and seeing 2024 Bronze medal winner 1500m on it lol.
the little bump where he lost his momentum i thought was the end of it, the speed he got right back to and finished with is even more impressive considering that.
i cant fault ingebrigtsen for going for it, he tried to do something epic and came up a little short.
Jakob blaned nobody but himaelf in tv interview. First lap too fast, felt very good and started faster than he thought. Have seen him much more depressed after champoinships than this
What about the men's 1500? The white guys are coming for the 1500 and Nuguse is just their one black friend 😂
