So how far do you think a burrito can be thrown? (Asking for a friend.)
A standard one or one with 300g of uncastrated boar offal?
By a standard human or by a human taking nandrolone?

If Shelby was busted in January, obviously she hasn’t doped since then. This means that if she runs tomorrow, she will be “clean” and we will see her true fitness.
If she crushes everyone, it can only mean that she is telling the truth.
If she bombs, well…now we know.
Not quite, she will be running on a lot of emotion, she will be exhausted, that itself will most likely have a big negative impact on her race. Though if she runs fast under these circumstances it will remove all doubt for me that she is clean. I'd be very surprised if she even finished top 3 right now though.
She can still win with a 4:02 or whatever. If she runs a 3:55 I would be more inclined to think she's clean and something weird happened (not pork burrito).
For those that have lives , here is a summary .
She said her steak burrito was really greasy . Then Shalane cried and said that truck sold 19-nortestosterone pork , then it peaked rojo's interest , and rojo wanted a menu.

To you old farts with better memories, didn't this same situation present itself with Butch Reynolds? If so, how did that play out. Didn't he fold at the last moment?
The Reynolds case went all the way to the US Supreme Court, which ordered the US Olympic committee to allow him to compete in the trials. And the issue was that the test had been flawed.
The IAAF threatened to suspend any athlete that competed against Butch and the 400 heats were suspended for a few days. But it was IAAF that eventually folded and allowed him to compete. It turned out to be anticlimactic because Reynolds only finished 5th the final, despite being the WR holder. He did end up in Seoul where he won gold on the 4x400.

I will be there and I'm throwing a Burrito at her.
Everyone one at home watching have a full sized carne asada with bacone burrito ready at the start of the heat. Try to beat Shelby's time.
He was banned from the 1992 Olympics by IAAF. Gold in the 4x4 was in 1988, before all of this.

You mean like The Court of Arbitration for Sport?
"The Court of Arbitration for Sport confirmed Tuesday its panel of judges “unanimously determined that Shelby Houlihan had failed” to prove how the anabolic steroid nandrolone got into her system."
No, not that BS court, but an actual real American court that has actual real jurisdiction in our country. That court, our court, said Houlihan must be allowed to race this weekend.
Why is that so hard to figure out? We live in a nation of laws. Sorry, WADA.
Because of course the American judicial system is world renowned and inherently reliable …..
SH has no legal recourse, however athletes competeing against her might. §220522 of the Ted Stevens Act (which is US Law that governs NGBs) states that "criteria for selection to the Olympic.. team.. is:
A) fair, as determined by the corporation in consultation with the national governing bodies, the Athletes' Advisory Council, and the United States Olympians and Paralympians Association;
(B) clearly articulated in writing and properly communicated to athletes in a timely manner; and
(C) consistently applied, using objective and subjective criteria appropriate to the applicable sport;"
If USATF is to allow a banned athlete into the trials, it would appear that it would be violating (A) and or (C).

You are correct. My memory failed me.
Great advertising opportunity for Moe's, Chipotle, or maybe even Taco Bell to sponsor the women's 1,500 M.

As an observer, I want her to go ahead and run for the spectacle of it all. But all these clean athletes are always talking about "the moment stolen" when a doper wins or places. If she wins, she's taking the spotlight away from a national champion, runner up and 3rd place winner who will be muddled in with 4th-8th.
When Ajee was (actually) appealing, didn't they take away her record when she was under the meat influence? Is Shelby going to be treated as a ghost runner? Who will the prizes and beautiful Hayward medals go to if she places? Can the 4th place finisher assume she is going to the Olympics?
I am assuming Shelby won't win the money nor the Olympic spot. But say there's a Hail Mary pass and Switzerland sees her case and acquits her, do they take away the first place winnings from the winner? Do they tell the 4th place runner to stay home for the Olympics? How much did they think this through?
I came here to make essentially this same post. I want her to run because it makes for great drama while I'm watching, but I also don't think it's fair to the other athletes.
So I guess the question is who are these trials for, the fans or the athletes?

Larry Dickman is a classic example of why our country has so many problems. He speaks authoritatively in BS platitudes that are incorrect and expects everything to go his way. Give me a break.
Larry Dickman doesn't even have evidence of a US Court's injunction, he just assumes as much because another bozo on LetsRun said so. And maybe there is an injunction, but Larry Dickman would never bother to look into it. Why? Because Larry Dickman is a thoughtless chum whose words are generally meaningless.
Combine the beer mile with the burrito mile. Thats an event! Have Shelby be pacesetter.

I'll say this much, SH seems to have a good sized and vocal group of supporters around her that believe her and are willing to stick their necks out for her, and that should not be discounted.
When the people that know someone are willing to defend them and not abandon them at a time like this, it is possible that they believe it to be implausible that she is a doper. And despite the wada evidence, they could be right.
I'm not saying they are and that she is innocent or a victim but if her colleagues, coaches, etc were abandoning her, that would be telling.
This is the stupidest post on this thread
She ran 3:57xx in a time trial a couple of weeks ago with a male pacer. Verified here on LR. Someone link the thread.

First and foremost, the trials, the olympics, the international competitions are for the major 'stakeholders' in the T&F Entertainment/Apparel Business that is sold to the general public.
The athletes are just puppets in the big puppet show, that sign away basic human rights when they volunteer to be participants in this venture that is heavily controlled to be the only game in town. The coaches are just one level above the puppets.
It really is incredible that the USTAF and the Olympic Trials are letting a convicted doper compete, no matter what they subjectively think of her guilt. This moves track and field as a sport in America closer to where professional boxing ended up - a complete joke that ended up killing itself.
This just reeks of sham and fraud. Hard to believe a sport like track could end up this way in America.
