One of the worst party-not-in-power midterm election results in our history.
Okay, but we need to keep a couple things in mind:
1. In 2020, the Republicans made gains in the HoR that they "shouldn't" have, and in 2022 only needed a few more seats--which they got--to re-take the House. Cumulatively, that is a sea change from the situation after the 2018 elections. Evidently many GOP voters are rejecting Trump/Trumpism without rejecting the Party itself.
2. The GOP's Senators faced a very difficult election map in 2020. To a degree that's just the luck of the draw: Thirty-some Senate contests come up every two years, and going into this election the Republicans held 60% of the seats that were up for grabs, including some in battleground states. The situation will be very different in 2024: almost all the GOP seats are very safe.
TL, DR: Posters (not specifically Flagpole) should not be writing the GOP off just yet. In 2024, even if Trump is their presidential nominee, they could end up holding both houses of Congress.
2020 was 2020. 2022 is 2022...lot of differences between the two...MORE insanity between 2020 and 2022 from Trump. 2022 was a midterm election that was a clear rebuke of Trump and Trumpism. The GOP needs to distance itself from Trump and fast and as far as it can.
You're more likely to be struck by lightning than killed by an assault rifle in America.
Yet people like you run around acting like the whole country is a "warzone"
You are absolute devoid of self awareness.
2,456 Americans were killed in Afghanistan from 2001 to 2021.
4,431 Americans were killed in Iraq from 2003 to 2011.
In that same time over 12,000 people were murdered just in Chicago.
The inner cities are literally worse than a war zone.
How to say you have never been in an inner city and you have never been in a war zone without saying you've never been in either an inner city or in a war zone.

Why don’t people that live in these cities run away? Why aren’t they terrified? Are these democrat voters just really brave and courageous? Maybe I should put that in a veteran of the inner city on my job applications
All cities have areas that residents know to avoid. And unfortunately, they are mainly black areas of town. Not doing nothing but stating the facts. Avoid those areas of town.

You either didn't actually live in one of the dangerous neighborhoods or you got lucky.

Of course I didn’t live in one of those neighborhoods. But I’m hearing “Chicago is a warzone” not “Bronzeville is a warzone”

And a side note, Bucktown was the nicest place I’ve ever lived. It’s like 4 square blocks of paradise between Logan and Wicker. Tons of families. Amazing parks, bars, and restaurants. It’s right on the 606 so you can get a decent run in too. I miss it all the time minus the winter

Right wingers are so dishonest. It is estimated that about 437,000 died in Iraq and Afghanistan wars. But this right wing gotcha only works if you use US deaths which were historically low due to the nature of the conflict as well as the limited capabilities of the rag tag armies the US was fighting. And of course this right winger uses the a time period of 20 years because it helps bolster his case. The majority of this time was the US doing nation building and trying to install governments that failed.
This is a perfect example of how to lie with statistics.

LOL!!
Were more Americans killed in Chicago or Iraq and Afghanistan between 2001 and 2021?
I used 20 years because that's how long the war lasted.
The bloodiest year in Afghanistan for Americans was 2010 when 498 were killed.
The bloodiest year in Chicago was last year with 797 killed.
Statistics that prove you're a fraud aren't "lies" just because you don't like them.
You say there's mass shootings every day and you lie about the weapons used and who's doing the killing.

This is how to lie with statistics. If one is making a claim that a city is a war zone and to prove your point you point to a real military war zone but only count a tiny fraction of the deaths that occurred because total deaths obliterate your proof, then you are being dishonest.
Kelly Anne Conway talking to the January 6 committee today.
walls moving in
NEW: Former White House aide Kellyanne Conway is meeting in person right now with the Jan 6 committee sources tell @haleytalbotnbc & me. Conway was not subpoenaed publicly & the committee won’t say if she was appearing voluntarily. Conway was spotted by pooler @GabeFerris

Saying "what about" the other deaths is dishonest.
Americans were literally safer in the WAR ZONE than they were in Chicago.

Your post literally says that "inner cities are literally worse than a war zone". Now you are back peddling saying it is strictly from an American citizen standpoint in the case of the wars.
Using your selective use of groups to make your point work, I could say that Chicago is the safest city in the United States for people that don't belong in street gangs. Do you see how dishonest that is by not comparing total deaths vs the ones you want to talk about to make a point?

Do you wonder at all why you're working so hard to pretend reality doesn't exist?
About 350,000 have been murdered in the last 20 years.
The overwhelming MAJORITY of them are in the inner city.
If you think a few thousand more people dying in war zones in anyway helps your argument you're absolutely delusional.
You know goddam well what a BLM-riot/looter denier is. Its like any denier, whether a Holocaust denier, election denier, BLM-loot denier -- someone who attempts, by fraud an/or avarice, to significantly minimize the existence of a know fact.
Why do I have to mansplain what a denier is to you after all these posts on that specific topic? Jesus goddam Christ.
I ask because this is the first time I’ve ever seen BLM riot/loot denier used as a term, whereas Holocaust denial has a long history which you are apparently not very knowledgeable of, otherwise you might be able to track a simple metaphor that uses it’s common terms, phrases, and theories.
I wouldn’t say that I’ve attempted to minimize any facts. I’ve not tried to argue that millions of dollars of property damage were actually thousands of dollars or anything like that. I believe that the positive effects of the protests greatly outweigh the negative effects. Study after study shows that they were 90% or more (usually high 90s) peaceful protests, yet you categorize them only as riots, and you think I’m the one distorting facts. Silly
I agree that I am not knowledgeable of Holocaust denying, other than I've seen a few people over the years deny the Holocaust happened. But as far as the arguments for Holocaust denial, I'm pretty much in the dark, and not interested enough in them to look it up.
I know a lot more about BLM-riot denial and the specious, flawed, illogical and bulverized arguments that you BLM-riot deniers toss around.
