You bring up excellent points. I wasn't aware this was already in place 15 years ago. It is time to right the wrongs, and shine the light of day on these issues.
Rojo, please put this poster's quotes on the quote of the day.

Why are you still not grasping that T levels in the blood have no bearing on bioavailable androgens. And they why 10? Why not 9. It is arbitrary, especially for PAIS where you don't know how much is bioavailable.

So the IAAF needs to simply change its rules.
The whole thing is just so simple. If you have a Y chromosome, you can\'t compete in women\'s events. It\'s determined by a DNA/Chromosome test. No arguments, no uncomfortable inspections.
As Rojo said, the PC women are ruining sport for chromosomally normal (XX) women.
I wondered if that would work. Just say there are two categories of competitors. One is xy and the other is everyone else. That way they avoid all talk of male and female.
Or say one in T over 10 and the other is everyone else.
Hi there,
my name is Jeffrey Duncan and I'm a former teammate and good friend of Ms. Heffernan. First and foremost, even if she were the journalist behind this "bush-league" attack on Rojo, these hateful anonymous messages are completely unwarranted and highlight just how awful letsrun is. If there was ever a wonder why the running community is so anemic and disjointed or why our sport is has so much trouble attracting the attention of young aspiring athletes, one has to look no further than letsrun - the internet home of track and field where you can find vile things being said about every kind of person.
To be very clear, Maggie is not the journalist, and I would like to ask Rojo to delete these messages as Maggie has received some very hateful social media lashback from some of you. It's neither appropriate or fair to her, particularly given that there is no real evidence to substantiate that she was the journalist.
Again, I'd like to reiterate that Maggie IS NOT the journalist and she does not need to be slandered here.
Thanks,
Jeffrey Duncan

Great - pull down the posts. If you hit report they'll eventually look at them.
I havent read them all, but I don't think they were actual slanderous statements. Most folks, including me, said that if it was her, yada yada.
One tweet or post like this is all a journalist needs to write to clear their name.
Wow, check the references at the bottom of this article:

Wejo is quoted several times, just like ventolin and others. She is a very avid LRC reader.
"Using discursive media analysis as a methodology, we focus on the framing of each athlete by the anonymous commentary of ordinary fans on a popular international track-and-field website called LetsRun. "
I really start to wonder how many cross country captains are also social justice warriors and are writing about Semenya at this moment.
Rojo do you know that all women make testosterone and that usually the ones who make a bit more are in top of their game?
Therefor i think your viewpoint is a bit stupid. Semenya should be allowed to compete without any treatment as she is a true Olympian just genetically inferior.
She does not use ergogenic aid at least not that we know of.
Ergogenic means are EXTERNAL means that improve performance. Some of them are illegal some of them not.
Semenya genetic advantage is for sure not ergogenic aid as she is born with it so you cannot question it. While Oscar Pistorius his stupid legs + steroids you might question.
Quite.
By the way - no evidence that Hillsburgh has ever written for a popular media outlet, so I'd say it probably isn't her as well.
Interesting read though.
Never ceases to amaze me how some people use LetsRun to either endorse it when it suits them or rubbish it when it doesn't.
Why is everyone thinking that all of my trolling is total hogwash, just things I'm making up from the seat of my pants to try and throw this discussion off track?
Rojo, there's been about half a dozen women outed as the 'journalist' who contacted you and seems some are now taking offence.Time to for you to name a name me thinks.

jduncan@haverford.eduQuite.
Please, LRC is no more special in this regard than any other site on the internet. This site just aggregates and anonymizes fan posts. The pros and cons of this have been debated on the boards many times. LRC is not the cause of the sport's problems. Don't give it that much credit.
Have you been to NFL message boards? NBA boards? Premiere League boards? If track and field wants to play with the big boys and get paid the big bucks the gloves have to be off and allow people to express opinions about their performances, training, personal brand, etc.

It is well known that Semenya was born a male and is definitely NOT a female.
His male genetics give him a 10 percent advantage over women of his otherwise same capabilities. Were he a true female he's be running no faster than 2:07 for 800 meters. For that reason alone, but especially because he's a male, he has no business being in a women's athletic event.
Anyone who thinks Semenya is a female totally ignorant of the facts.

This is exactly what happens when people don't tell the truth and try to cover it up.

Unfortunately I can understand why he is withholding the name. Sending the boards after this woman for her name calling while she is still writing up the article is likely to only inflame her and ruin his chances of getting a companion editorial or full statement in the piece.
This journalist is clearly reading these boards. She should post and identify herself. Her piece will run soon enough. She is letting all of these other women take the heat instead of her.

The person is telling the world who the Brojos are, and smearing their names (if that's even possible). There's no reason why Rojo should cover up who she is.
You gotta be kidding me? LetsRun is hurting the sport? Every single major sport in the world has a site like Letsrun. Their are so many trolls on NFL and NBA forums that say the same stuff. I don't think many kids are going to base their decision on starting running because of LetsRun. There are forums about peewee football were people bash other coaches and players, and that's PEEWEE football.

Nonsense. Rojo's freedom to post as he wishes does not depend on approval from the journalist, and he's not going to gain favors by covering up who s/he is.
Personally I would not want to be in her/his editorial, would continue on as usual and post what I wish.

Yea, great point. No reason to keep the name quiet at this point. She wants to call him a bigot to a wider and bigger readership. Light that ship on fire.

How about you just go through your chain of reasoning for us, which will exclude testosterone, presumably.
1.) Do you believe there needs to be separate events/categories for male and female in sports (specifically athletics)?
2.) If so, why should there be separate events for male and female (rather than, for example, just one 800m race for everyone)?
3.) Relying on your reasons as to why there needs to be separate categories, on what criteria do you wish sporting bodies to use to separate male and female for competition?
Thank you.
