You called Running Dogg a "lyin ho" when he explained his absence due to a "sudden family matter." Yet you expect everyone to leave you alone when you're feeling down. Perhaps you should consider treating others with respect if you expect to receive the same.
There are no plans to delete this thread. We understand that would be giving Skuj exactly what he wants. Instead sanctions have been taken against him. Please continue to support this thread with the knowledge that Skuj should no longer be a problem. Thank you for your patience.
All lies, as usual, Andrew. I'll let you know when these "sanctions" appear.
In the meantime, Nov 16 is my planned Day 1, which gives me exactly 4 months to train for a Half Marathon. 1 month off, 4 months on. Goal 1:17something.
Discuss.
No time to run. Day off. Teamed with a friend and took our kids, little cousins and friends hiking on Tuscan hills in Cortona. 3 hour total, then bbq. Felt great. Tomorrow kids track. Sunday cross country race at Circo Massimo. And a whole lot of tv/web watching for trials and nycmarathon. If the planet doesn't implode should be a good weekend...
WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL OF TODAY'S POSTS ON THIS THREAD?
NOV. 03/07
45:00, felt sluggish. Needed gloves and cap, chilly up here behind that Hurricane Noel. Air is very cool and clean. Nice, very nice...my favorite time of year in New England.
Too bad, though, some of this rain didn't wind up in Georgia or Califunny where they REALLY need it.
Oddly, my oaks and maples haven't all turned color yet. I have a ton of mowing and leaf-blowing and hauling awaiting
me in a couple of weeks.
After hearing yesterday about the tragic loss of Ryan Shay, I went out for a long run to work through things in my head. Running is great therapy. RIP RS.
Had a great xc race today but just doesn't seem appropriate to harp on it.
What happended is a tragedy. Running, like many other things, can help to deal with tragedy without freezing up; moving on.
Yesterdays comments were pulled down. I have no problem with that. It's hard to gauge what's appropriate and what isn't in these cases.
I left my condolences on the appropriate thread started by Shay's father. A profoundly courageous approach to personal grief.

Hi
To whom this might concern
I don't believe what I, or anyone else posted here yesterday was inappropriate. I was truly shocked by the news! Moderator(s), please dont' be like those from the PIH, Prairie Inn Harrier club's message board deleting anything which goes against their convictions, etc.
Anyhow, today;
Same route as yesterday 41:10 AHR 135, exact same pace out & back.
good point Victoria.
in one word: empathy. I just tried to put myself in the shoes of moderators vis-a-vis Shay family, regular posters, new posters, malicious trolls...whatever... maybe they overreacted to what was said on this particular thread and chopped away.
There are some posters i have noticed who seem like they want to overtly challenge them (sorta like; go ahead, make my day, pull my post/thread attitude...) so some of our posts weere chopped in the hacking... no major loss
Anyway: what I meant was I personally don't have a problem with some level of overreaction. I suppose it is a form of tolerance. Nonetheless i very much appreciated your statement.
TODAY: 1 hour, barefoot walk in the park to work. Put my soles (and soul) back in order after yesterday's bodacious race and rather thought-provoking day.
Good points, Vic!
42' yesterday
Brrrrrrrrrr...temps are getting into the 60's at night.
I have to start wearing a top. :)
80 minutes of swimming this morning
30-minute, easy run tonight. Hip appears to be OK (famous last words).
45:00 steady, felt pretty good after halfway. Much better than yesterday.
Thanks Hammy & 'point'
Today's run:
Shorter & harder. For 28:19. AHR 143 MHR 160 Solid finish, really nice day.
It looks like we're getting back to normal around here with some good running reports. Keep them coming!
Yesterday I hit the hills. Did about 25', then right into 8 x ~300 m hill, followed by another 25'. Good stuff!
Today: TBA.
Keep up the good work, all!
32 minutes easy. Since I'm doing 8-min pace, I might as well complete 4 miles. :)
1 hour with PT tonight (after run).
8 minute pace. Those were the days....
35 minutes today, somewhat slower than 8 min/mile (sigh)
bike commute, long route, about 50 mins, plus way back home tonight,
60' on treadmill
My run today;
For nearly 33 minutes.
Warm up for 7 1/2 min., solid pick up for over 6 1/2 min., jog recovery 4 1/4 min., return along same stretch 6:36 (same time) near 8 min. jog rec. to finish AHR 134 MHR 154 trying to push the 6 1/2 min. stretches.
