Shacarri lost in the semi and lost in the final… Lyles lost in the semi…… Not looking good for US’s biggest sprinters. I wouldn’t be surprised if Lyles loses the final too.
Also, Hoare and Garcia romo out? Nuguse bad tactics in the prelim… not looking good for OAC mid distance. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nuguse doesn’t get top 5 in the final
The difference is that Sha’Carri had no business losing this race, whereas Noah Lyles might actually be projected 3rd right now in the 100 and 1st in the 200.
If SAFP and Jackson were able to go, Sha’Carri would have been 4th…. she’s a headcase.
This might be the dumbest take on the board today, and that’s saying something.
Alfred is a top class sprinter and anyone who has been following the sport the past few years knows it. If it weren’t for the insane timing fiasco at the world champs in Eugene, she might already be a global medalist.

Sander Skotheim for not dropping out of the competition after getting no mark in the PV in order to pace his closest rival and countryman to an Olympic gold medal.
If Titmus beats Ledecky in the race coming up, it'll kinda sum up how things have gone so far.
Ledecky and Biles carrying
Why is everyone so down on the US? In most previous Olympics they’ve only outpaced China in the golds by a couple, and they’re on pace to do that again with much of the athletics schedule still to come. And they’re well ahead in total medals. France clearly leader in per capita battle, however.

10.72 into an almost still wind is Alfred’s best ever time. Richardson ran 10.65 into a similar (but stronger) wind in worse shape than she is now.
Very confident that Sha’Carri takes 4th if the field is all there.
Alfred is good. But let’s stop pretending anyone except Sha’Carri keeps beating Sha’Carri. She did it in the 200 at the trials. She did it multiple times before that. She did it again here. It didn’t happen out of nowhere.

Bullcrap.
This was an amazing time, equal considering wind, rain, rounds, etc to SCR’s best.
Alfred kicked her, and everyone else’s aszes. SCR was NEVER going to win this eace if Alfred was healthy, and that was obvious a long time ago to those of us who know.
Jackson had to withdraw before the meet started and SAFP couldn't make it for the semis. The best 8 that could run ran in the final today. Jackson had one of the best years ever for a sprinter last year and has fallen off a cliff this season. SAFP is one of the best ever, maybe the best if we are talking about winning medals, but like anyone else time has caught up to her. The real question now is can Alfred, Richardson, Jefferson compete on this stage for an extended period of time and who else will join them or surpass them? Perhaps Clayton who looked great in the semi, but wasn't ready for that stage in the final just yet. By the next Olympics there will be several names we haven't heard of yet who will be in the final. Case in point only 3 from Tokyo made it back to the final in Paris after only a 3 year gap. Can 3 of these women make it back to the final in LA in 4 years?
Big props for Moore - first ever medal in WTJ, that was quite unexpected. Really fine effort. And looks like swimming starting to pick up a little slack (dq aside) with 2 golds to end the night action.

Ok you are now just posting misinformation. Actually look at her times in the past and then resume posting, thank you.

Agreed. Choked out unfortunately, but still took it with stride and did everything he could to contribute towards the gold.

Can definitely tell who were actually sprinters on this forum.. peaking early is a thing, over/under racing is a thing, tiring through rounds is a thing, drama before the race is a thing and most importantly being less prepared than your competitors is a thing. Did anyone stop to think how much FASTER Alfred could have run if pushed to the line? Richardson has to do a lot more media work than the others and her speed endurance is not improving as a result of the strength training for the 100 but 200 is her favorite event IRL which she failed to make so probably isn’t as motivated

BS. Read what I wrote.
I did, and it’s simply not factual. 10.87 is not an amazing time (for her). Alfred and the others had no problems running within a good range of their expected times. Sha’Carri is a 10.6 on a good day. That’s just a world of difference from 10.87 in sprinting.
