Just thinking aloud after looking over yesterday's data. One of two things is happening:
1. He is doing this Transcon legit and making it look easy.
2. He is cheating but has perfected a way to Trick Strava that nobody can figure out. (watch mule seems the only way possible)
As someone that has run many thousands of miles but never jumped into the world of ultra, I rely on the expert Ultra guys on this thread. His paces and times to cover distances of 50+ miles aren't anything super human to me but I assumed cumulative fatigue would be more visible. I live in Tropical weather so I know of the boost I get when I run in the cold temps like 35-40. You feel like you can run forever and your heart rate shows the same. He is enjoying these cold temps right now. At least for the mornings. I would say his form is very, very good and economical for this task. Cadence of 176-180 is impressive.
Is it possible for a 3:10 marathoner to be the fastest transcon buy from England? What are the marathon bests for the top 5 US transcon time holders? Are they faster or about the same?
