C'mon Supertamp. Let's talk buddy! 7:45 today for Lancaster, running without 1:54 guy Wes Taylor. And Thress was coasting. I remember you saying something about sub 7:40 being ridiculous..
Well Supertramp... I bet you're feeling a little stupid after posts like this. 4:08 isn't too far from 4:05, especially when you consider we haven't started the post-season, and Gabelman is only a junior. Care to take this post back along with your Lancaster one?

Solid, solid race. Lancaster 7:45, W. North 7:48 (I would've loved to see Gabelman and Thress get the baton at the same time), Olentangy 7:55, Kilbourne 7:56.
Kilbourne was leading until the final stretch of leg 3, after 1:56ish legs by both Miller and Smith. Thress got the baton far enough ahead of Gabelman for it not to be a race. Thress maybe around 1:53, Gabelman 1:54.
I wonder why Wes Taylor did not race. is he sick or hurt? In general, what is everyone's thoughts of running through some sickness such as a head cold or some aches and pains? postseason wise. 2 years ago i had a teammate that did not run at districts because of head cold and he was 2nd fastest 800 for us.

So will Lancaster be able to scare St. X's record if everyone is healthy and at their best? St. X's record is 7:36.33 so it's probably too much to take off. Woodridge has the D2 record at 7:37.43.

I just looked through the prelim results and Taylor ran the 800.

He didn't run the 4x8 because, frankly, he didn't need to. Lancaster has depth galore, so they have the luxury of pulling a typical cross country St X or Mason move - not running all their top guys together until championship time.
And Peter Gibbons... what's your deal with "Kilbourne"? It's the last name of one of the village founders. You seem a little unhinged when it comes to this.
Back to the 4x800... once Orange and Coffman stack their squads (and frankly, Liberty now too), we're going to see something special. Perhaps 4-5 teams under 7:50 at Pick N.
This is a good point. I noticed today that Coffman didn’t run 2 of their top 800 runners in the 4 x 8, but still managed to pull out a win with a respectable time. The Regional 4 x 8 will be very exciting to watch.

A little unhinged? Nah. Just having fun at KilbourneMegaSupporter's expense.
Agreed about Lancaster. They don't need to stack their A and A-plus teams until the regional and state championships. Obviously that's a very nice position to be in.
PREDICTION: Lancaster goes 7:39 in Columbus in June and wins a state title in the 4x800, but St. X's record remains safe for another year.

I can agree with this. We've also been ignoring Jerome. They've gone 7:52 already, and with 4:17 Razor, 9:06 Richuitti, and 9:16 soph Guerrera, who knows what their ceiling is.
St X v. Lancaster will be special. But the Gales win. Unless Trapp finds a way to run 49.1 in the open 4 like Thress. Thress not only will likely get the baton in the lead, no 4x8 anchors can outkick him.
Looking at results from the districts around the state now
I am curious to see how/when/if Tommy Rice steps it up on the journey to Columbus in June.
He finished 2nd in his district in the 3200m and 3rd in the 1600m. That North Canton district had some pretty good names and seemed to be pretty tight: Rice, Papas brothers, Connor Reed, Eli Ilg, Noah Johnson.

I'll go out in a limb and say the defending stste champ in the 32 will be ready. Same thing happened last year - lots of attention on Jerold, Ondracek, Ackley (doubling) - and Rice peaked at the right time.
