Pomona didn't change their strategy from last year but faced drastically different conditions. I think they had the fitness to win, but they needed to adjust their strategy, both before the race when they could see the awful conditions and during the race when the early pace was controlled enough that they couldn't count on almost everyone coming back to them.
I'm trying to only focus on teams that actually belonged at the national meet, but Tufts' results were simultaneously shocking and entirely predictable. The committee needs to change how they approach qualification, that was absurd.
