It's MIAC Day! I'm excited to have competent meet management for the first time since Hamline hosted XC. Also looking forward to seeing all the Ricks/Power bad blood spill over. Power is trying to backdoor some entries and Ricks isn't having it.

I’m all for a Ricks-Power MMA matchup, but it’s actually the Ole women trying to switch athletes after the deadline.
Will I get more upvotes if I say I’m convinced Power gave them the idea? Because I wouldn’t put it past him.
Will Hamline use their home track to pull some tricks to finish in the top 10? Will we see a post on this thread that has any value? How did we get to page 17? So many questions ahead of the biggest weekend of the year...
Pipers get your sh!t together, why did you set up the camera in the press box...get outside!
Move over Mongo Dong! The Johnnies have a new 800 front runner. The era of BIG DICK NICK has just begun!
Nice 10K mostly solo for Mohammed. Looks like even if Fiona would have run a PR she still would have missed scoring in the men's 10K so probably good St. Bens didn't try to get a few bonus points from the men's side.
I’m not sure sure what was more fun - watching the dismay on Power’s face when his 1500m men crapped the bed or watching him pout for 16 laps after Bati dropped his guys. He told my coach they were chasing the MIAC record in the 4 x 800, so a rough night for that dope.
This is meet us over. What a display of sprint dominance for Bethel. What will be most interesting is to see whether the Cobbers can challenge St. John’s for third. They need big performances from their relays and the steeple to do that. Carleton also needs good 5Ks to make sure St. Olaf doesn’t claim third. Looking forward to seeing third come down to the 4 x 400 since all 3 teams have similar times.
Bati wanted to run fast but Power was more concerned with trying to finish fourth as a team and wouldn’t let his runners try to qualify for nationals. At some point someone should tell this guy if he’s not in it for the athletes to move on and sell insurance or something like that. As a fellow coach I try to avoid him because he sucks joy from the sport. All he cares about is points and performances.
Carls almost beat the Oles with 5 guys. W for the East Northfielders.

Looks like Bati might be starting to figure out the track. Couple big wins after bombing outdoor last year and being hit & miss indoor. Absolutely controlled the 5k. Hung with the trail pack, seemed to move up easily, and kicked early to negate Gabe’s better speed/kick.
Tough double for Will. Talent is too deep to pull off the steeple/5k now.
First/second in a super competitive 1500/5k also impressive for Gabe.
Fiona’s triple is amazing, but she’s at a different level so it’s barely fare.
Also, apparently MIAC has turned into a powerhouse sprinting conference.
One of the MOST electric 5k’s in recent memory. Between Bati edging the Oles before dropping them and Roy spewing phat chunks multiple times in the last 600 meters, it was a race to remember. But these highlights pale in comparison to the mystery Gustie who exploded on the track. While the 5k looks slower on paper, we must take into account that entire field had to run through the fumes of Roy’s vomit and the gusties explosion of diarrhea. Multiple athletes commented on their inability to run fast through the smell which permeated the entire track
It’s great to see Mo get two MIAC championships after a certain coach has repeatedly said Mo won’t do the work. Little does he know how much he has inspired the Augsburg team and staff. I loved the shot they sent with the hashtag.
Outside of the steeple, an event for people not fast enough for other distance races, the Carls and Bati greatly outperformed the Oles. Congrats to Bethel for having sprinters and St. John’s for having jumpers and one sprinter.
The defilement of the Hamline track will be an enduring memory for me, but all in all, it was a strong meet.
The coaches plan to have 1500's be national qualifiers by only contesting Finals has not led to any faster marks, but it did open up impressive triples and quads for the Carls. The 3 Carleton sophomores with the 800 sidekicks were the class of the meet.
Indy's stellar 800 aside, the 800m didn't match the highlights we expected. But all the Carls were probably tired. Lelinga warmed up for 3 hours before his race too, so that probably didn't help. I'm really looking forward to watching this 800 group over the next few years. Ash is the only senior in the top 10!
Steeple went as expected. It has been said before but Goss is the future of steeple. I predict he'll be a National Champion in 2026 and won't lose to another MIAC athlete the rest of his career. I wouldn't be surprised to see him snag a Nationals bid at a Last Chance. He closes hard!
Bati did claim his first outdoor titles, but nobody should be bragging about those times. All credit due though; the man has proven when he's on, nobody can touch him. Credit to his coach for doing an outstanding job of preparing him for meets that matter and not St. Thomas time trials. I for one like them clapping back at Power.
As for the Oles, they seem to have changed racing styles lately and are frontrunning themselves into a hole. If that carries over to XC, expect the losses of graduation and a weak freshman class to begin their demise.
Bati crushing a casual 23 miler after the 5/10 double title tells us all we need to know.
With track coming to a close, curious to think about next fall. Who will be the top names in the MIAC? Who will make a run at nationals? Any stud freshmen coming in? I suppose Bati runs away with a triple crown. Prediction: McKee claims the last individual bid for nationals. Wolves in 5.
The Oles graduate a ton of points and Lloyd graduated. Otherwise, all the names are the same. 1-5 Bati, Calvin, Lars, Gabe, Roy, and Indy. I'd look for a huge jump from Nick Brauer especially if the recruiting class is as good as they claim.
I'm very excited to see how the young and talent Johnnies and Cobbers develop after an impressive Spring. The battle for second between St. Olaf, St. John's and Mac could be something to watch. If Tucker Wallin still has eligibility he could put Scholastica back into that mix.
He did this and racing a last chance 5K?! Sorry MIACer's. This man is toying with you all.
gabe ran faster than Elliot cook did at pac 12s today. Gabe would’ve won pac12s. MIAC is the superior conference. Gabe is a god. Roy is the second coming of Christ. I want to bask in his heavenly chunks

My inside sources tell me that after having gotten himself lost looking for hobbits in Middle Earth, Alex Bittner will be making his triumphant return to Northfield this fall. How does this change the 800 dynamic and more importantly how does this affect LeBrodies legacy?
