Vakby is smarter and faster than her competitors. She outsmarted the host also.

It is not atypical for aerobic fitness and strength progression to continue for years in young athletes, and she has not been training at a high level as many years as KT has.
So Valby was the first female collegiate to go sub-15, and it occurred while KT was still in college.
Valby's close was really strong - running pretty even 69's for the full k closing in 2:52.82.
For contrast Cranny closed in 2:54.84 at USATF, but did not take off until 4500 or so.
It is still early, and we don't know where Schweizer and some others are at with injuries. But I think Valby is a threat to make the team. One factor is that she is proven in the heat, and that shouldn't be discounted.
Yes. I give her a 50% chance.
Rodenfels was not totally happy about the race
Good call on Doyle 15:33 wasn't realistic but 15:27 was.

Many of the posters couldn't understand that Valby would refuse to stay with pacers at 15:12 pace. Read the silly comments. This worked out great but I think she would have run even faster if all alone. She kept coming up her shoulder. If alone, she would have pushed to a 14:49.
Yes, I agree with this.
