Is it better to have Semenaya break the 800 record, or let a super doped up east German chick keep it? I would prefer neither, but probably pick Semenaya.
I don't like either option.
But I guess between those two I would rather have a biological woman with the women's record than a biological male with a women's record.
What about a biological man with a biological vagina?
Just looked at the full results of the womens 4x1 heats and saw that the German team apparently got reinstated into the final after appeal. Does anyone know what happened to them in the heats?
I will admit don't follow sprinting in depth but feel I have adequate knowledge. But who are these guys running third and fourth legs for the United States? Carne's & Smith?
Probably could thing of day...10-15 other dudes off the top of my head, and I don't know sprinting.
WTF?
RE: "Carne's & Smith?"
Those athletes finished 4th and 5th in the 100m at USATF; through our qualifying system, they earned the right to run on 'a' relay. Both of those athletes are career 10.1 sprinters' they got walked because 9.9 type athletes were chasing them. Carne's & Smith are probably 2 of the slowest athletes the USA has had on a relay in a long time, but they managed to beat mainstays like Trayvon Bromell, Ronnie Baker, Marvin Bracy and Michael Rodgers, etc. who all have much fasters PRs when it really counted. With that said, we did not have a lot of good options especially considering the other fast guys where running the 200m.

I just watched the replay. It looks like there may have been slight contact between the first runner from Trinidad and Tobago in lane 8 and the second German runner in lane 7.
Jamaica's star-studded lineup of Briana Williams, Elaine Thompson-Herah, Shashalee Forbes, and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce easily won their 4x100 heat at Worlds ...
I would love to see the Jamaican women put together a WR 4x1. They always struggle with that. Pound for pound, they are much faster than the women for the US that set it. Did you know Allyson Felix was a mom?

Grant H was an option. But they got the job done anyway.
I actually feel for Mu. I don’t think when she ran the 1:23 600 indoors and burst onto the scene that she thought she would live with all these expectations and pressure. After finishing and leaving the track immediately, it just confirms her head isn’t in it. Be interested to see how she responds in the final. She looks strong and unbeatable. So much talent.
Had a friend who was a world class runner, now retired. When she was in meets she was FULL focus. No need to stay on the track until the final was done. Not a talker in the lead up. Focus! Don't misunderstand. She may not love pressure and she may not please the LR crowd, but she has focus. Another athlete slammed like that in the early part of the 2nd lap in an 800? She had talent. And yes, she is under pressure. Everyone wants to beat her. And the crowd here seems to want to find the chink in her armor. She's doing what works for her, not what works for you.
The intelligent among us are observing the behavior of you sheep as you condemn Mu and then weeks later praise her. It really is a spectacle to behold.
I’m still rooting against her, even if she does end up winning.
Is she the most talented 800m runner? Of course! But I won’t forget that nonsense of the LA Times article, and I’m not rooting for either her or SML anymore.
End of story. She’ll probably win, but I’m Hodgkinson all the way!
Sha'Carri congratulated her with a quick heartfelt hug and then jumped tf outta the way since she knew cameras were on Shericka for her big moment. Sha'Carri not trying to dominate the attention anymore. She's matured ~5 years since last year, crazy. Good job all around.
Used to dislike her, but I've been a fan now. Looks like a genuinely nice and fun person to be around with.
Same. Same. This meet turned me into a Sha’Carri fan! She seems genuinely like a chill person now, and she’s always cheering for her competitors.
