Drew Hunter's best chance of making the Olympic team is in the 10k where his PR is less than a half second faster than Brandt's PR.
Brandt ran his PR of 27:39 in college in 2020 then ran 27:43 at NCAAs in 2021 which is worth a lot faster in a rabbited race.
He should have kept running competitively. But it's funny that even to this day Drew is barely faster than Brandt. His call out was 100% appropriate.
The irony is that Brandt and Hunter probably don’t even care about this “rivalry” anymore.
That being said Drew gets criticized a lot but 27:38/13:08/7:39/3:34/1:48 are respectable PR’s, especially with the injury struggles he’s had. Not everyone can be Nico Young or Grant Fisher and that’s okay
Is Brandt still running? I remember Under Armour signing him and then immediately getting injured and haven't kept up.
he's essentially retired, runs just for fun now. He came out of retirement to do a brief build up for CIM, but he blew up there. now he's back to just running like an easy 8 miles a day. can't blame him.

Hard to believe one got paid a ton of money and the other found it hard to even get a contract. Almost like sponsors didn’t see the appeal of paying someone who was anti-marketing when that is literally their job, meaning after an injury or two it didn’t make sense to keep running for crumbs. But hey, some people thought he was cool for “calling out” a group for promoting themselves, so there’s that.

Which one of the TME freeloaders/unpaid interns/“photographers” wrote this?

Drew got paid a ton of money right out of high school because he was a sub 4 miler, one of the fastest high schoolers ever at the time. Drew Hunter's contract is widely regarded as one of the biggest BUSTS in pro running history. Once his contract ends, Drew will make pennies continuing to sell T-Shirts and making youtube videos.
Brandt realized that he could make more money through his degrees which he earned from extremely prestigious academic universities. Brandt is going to earn far more money over his career than Drew Hunter even if you include Drew's pro money.
Meanwhile Drew Hunter will for decades on this board be a joke because of how hard he failed as a pro and for hiring his mom to be his coach LMAO
