unfortunately only six Americans under Olympic Trials standard--Hartman, Sayenko, Morgan, Humphrey, Rizzo and Arcianaga---and all had already qualified---tough day to run for sure!!!!!!!!

Announcers were wondering earlier if 26:40 10k speed was going to trump Kebede's relentless pace...guess they know now.
OH please,
Yes, they said Kamau's PB was 26:41, then, in the same breath, they said that he might not be able to break Kebede who is nowhere close to that.
It made NO SENSE!
Now they know.
At first I did think Wanjiru would be broken; however, after the 3rd mini break and Wanjiru fought back the 3rd time and then he ran on his Kebede's shoulder.
After that I thought Wanjiru was trying to break Kebede because he saw everytime he went to front Kebede would retake the lead briefly by another surge. With less than 2 minutes to go Wanjiru did a strong but very brief 4th surge in which Kebede responded but he didn't look so good as his right arm had now begun a very noticeable circular motion.
You also noticed that from 22-25 mile Wanjiru kept looking back but once they reached mile 25 he never looked back again for the other Ethiopian. It appeared to me that Wanjiru formulated that tactic with one mile to go and it worked perfectly!

Sorry, I didn't mean it was offensive, saying weird would have been more accurate. The tone wasn't simply that $500,000 is a lot of money in any currency, but that it's worth more in Russia, which is true but a little offensive.
omg james carney.
bizuneh where you at?
ugh.

KEbede should do what I did: use EPO.
Congrats to Tera Moody on running 2:30:52 for a 2 minute PR on a hot day! The folks from Colorado are proud of you! Celebrate the day!
if you missed the finish to the men's race at chicago, its up on flotrack now
I come from Kericho, but lived in Nairobi for at least 10 years. The stereotype politics is really village ignorance stuff. I know some people who feel so strongly about these stereotypes that they would get mad when you give them an intelligent argument on these topic. Anyway Wanjiru did us all proud and I think this comeback will make Haile think twice about running 2012 Olympic marathon in London. Until todays race, I was skeptical of this guy but I am glad he has proved everyone including myself WRONG. We are all behind "Njaramba" once again.

Not in Moscow. Most expensive city in the world.
Wanjiru, rusha Kenya mbele!....btw i was not suprised by mark mutai win, i was in kenya over the summer and saw the guy running at the african championship, he looked really strong but lacking speed. He should be a mid 44 runner next season i think.
