This is why it’s so necessary to do your best and not get stuck in a tactical race. Who cares about top 3 if you don’t actually get to go to Paris because the race was too slow and tactical.

wait so can someone do the math? Would Valby be in?
Florida track coach, where she runs:)
Honestly came here to say this. Proud of her
THAT WAS AWESOME!!!
So wtf does Valby do now? Does she need to find another race tomorrow?
The education staff in Loudoun County made Kelati a priority when she came to this country. Kudos to that staff and Kelati for those efforts. She has assimilated well and is a deserving champion.
Valby is kind of an ice queen. I like that.

If I'm doing the math right: 1155 time points for Valby, plus 50 place points for 1205 total. Averaged with her race at Brian Clay that improves her ranking score to 1213, putting her at 29th on the Road to Paris list (not factoring any changes that may have happened from the other women in the race).
Monson is one of the top 29, so reduce Valby to 28th. She just needs one more to drop out. Schweizer is going.

And as we saw in the 5000, Valby has no sprint.

This is the moment that convinced me that Valby has it. Really impressed that she kept up with the favorite pros' kicks
Lets go Kelati

Valby gets 2nd by .004!
That is 3/4th of an inch
So looks like according to the 2nd place she ran 8 seconds faster than needed and will definitely qualify?!?!
Based on this - quite likely Valby is going?
Yeah she is clean and a champion..
I’m coming up with 32.33, repeating of course

Sounds about right, Schweitzer right about there too. Will be close and will depend on a few above them like Monson, not competing in Paris.
They will both be right at the cutoff.
Kelati sounds like Femke Bol!
My guess for the 200m final: Lyles (19.42), Bednarek, Knighton. Coleman gets 4th, passed by Knighton in the least 10m.
