The f-ing announcers didn't mention the points or places or who needed what to make the team before, during, or after the 1500. Horrible.
Exactly. Last I checked, ZZ was up by over 100 pts with only jav and 1500 left. I had no idea what was going on in the 1500 with the overall score. Pathetic. Peacock must figure that dec is just too confusing for people. Still a million times better than flotrack.
Ok maybe I loved it so much because I follow the points table from live results and the event marks/points while I watch whatever snippets are shown on TV. Typically networks will show a 60 second video recap of the decathlon event winners only. On Peacock there are literally hours of decathlon-only coverage with gold medalist decathlete (and former world record holder) Dan O’Brien commentating. It’s different from the main broadcast that has Trey Hardee commentating. Trey was an elite decathlete, his commentary is solid, too.

Such bigoted views are necessary to protect the future viability of women's sports."
Today I received an email from a female journalist whom I had a long conversation with a few weeks ago about the Caster Semenya situation. Her email was one sentence long and was as follows;"We're publishing an essay calling...
Running 10.91 and not making your country's Olympic team, US is stacked
The US women’s depth at 100/200 is insane. It’s better than the men. Some of these women need to go to the 400 where other than the young guns there isn’t much there.
this is not even close to true.
the men: world champion in the 100 for 2019, 2022, 2023. that's three different guys.
the 200: are you kidding me. lyles, bednarek, knighton and COurtney lindsey. all legitimate olympic medal threats. not just guys are who are pretty good or used to be pretty good.
I didn’t know a thing about Holt 1 minute before the announcers gave his backstory, I was really really sad when he didn’t make it. What the announcers said + just something about him made me really want him to succeed 😔
If he's declared and in the 800, it'd be cool to see him do well there. Coffee Club talked about him and his recent workout, about a week ago, and I didn't realize how fast he was. Maybe that's his shot.
