What else is there besides training or talent? What are you claiming makes her so good? Those are the only 2 factors that I am aware of.
The post (not mine) that immediately followed yours.
"All this article does is raise suspicion. I find it VERY difficult to believe Valby is continuing to improve while cross training without the help of a pharmacy."
Taylor Roe said in an interview that she has never seen anyone in her entire career get back to peak fitness after being injured as fast as Valby can, and it speaks to how talented Valby is.
Roe is probably being sincere. But, what else could it mean?
Other runners notice and it is one thing that can't really be explained by talent. Is it the cross training? Don't all runners cross train after injury?
Taylor Roe is 23 years old and has run her entire collegiate career at OSU, right?
It's not like Renato is saying he's never seen anything like it before. Relatively speaking, you're talking about a kid saying they haven't seen another kid perform like this before. It's college.

A 23 year old is not a "kid". There are younger Olympic champions.
Renato isn't the convincing authority you think he is here.
This is very hard to follow. The post mentions a pharmacy. Does this pertain to the injury that some other posters are referring to? Are you saying that she was prescribed anti-inflammatory drugs?

Could very possibly be: 1. Thyroid meds 2. Prescription inhalers
Im sure the #s of ppl using/'needing' both would be pretty staggering at this point

You've shown that everything on this thread is too hard for you to follow. I suggest you make yourself a cocoa and go to bed.
Are you saying that she is using illegal drugs? That is a serious allegation. I am sorry to inform you that she is the most talented American runner in history. Hard for you to deal with the fact that she is smashing records while that former high school phenom went into hiding once she enterd the testing pool.
Didn't you say that nearly everyone uses an inhaler also?
Are you trying to be intentionally ignorant of the current state of modern endurance sports here? Or where the trends and disclosures have been from top runners in America, forget the rest of the world for a moment.
Thyroid meds for many. Inhalers for many.
Do we have a list of all the TUEs the current crop of top talent in America/the world have to disclose? Very unlikely we can get our hands on that -- pretty sure thats not publicly available information.
How many insiders need to come forward for you to immediately forget the state of play here?

Speculation as to what is possible isn't an allegation. Any top runner could be using drugs and we wouldn't know for sure because few are caught (and there is virtually no testing at college level). However, there are posters here who question the credibility of Valby's career trajectory, given her dramatic injury recoveries on the limited kind of training she has apparently used.

I dont agree with everything that Armstonglivs puts forward, but to just dismiss the tapestry of high level endurance sports to be constantly chipping around the edges for advantages and using novel applications of therapeutics is beyond naive
If you dont think some of this stuff qualifies as cheating that could potentially be a separate argument, but to have the posture that nothing is different or happening is a little daft
I dont necessarily think Valby is or is not in this camp.
I dont totally care if she is or is not. But when i hear news about anyone im not really surprised.
But to the main point, I think her performance could be there with cross training. Not that we know the real specifics from a Runners World article thats for sure.
But you never speculated about Tuohy using drugs evven though she is built like the Eastern Europeans during the height of the illegal actvities. Valby is built to run.
No. I assumed that you are in the know. That is why I said if nearly everyone is doing those things legally, it is the same as nearly everyone using supershoes. It is therfore not something that makes Parker better than other runners. It is therefore a nondiscriminator. We are then only left with superior talent as the discriminator.

This thread isn't about Tuohy or her training, or her physique (she is no Kratochvilova). But if you think a distance runner's physique tells you they are clean or doped what do the physiques of Ramzi or Kiprop or any number of busted Kenyan distance runners tell you? Were they not also "built to run"?

No, it’s specifically you and astro that have repeatedly accused her of doping for two years now. And you aren’t the sharpest tool in the jar when it comes to training, in general. Her foot injury was in January, she was back to the fitness at the time of injury by June. You and astro are the only ones that keep repeating that is a dramatic injury recovery.
