Glad Grant got the AR, but still confused at to why he took the pace
It was his only chance to win. He was not going to outkick Kerr or even the guys behind him if they were together. His only chance was to push the gas and run away from everyone. He dropped everyone but Kerr.

He knew when he signed up for the race. Grant showed up to break the AR.
What if Kerr went to the arms a little sooner, would he have been sub 8 possibly? Did Fisher go to the arms too early, or not at all? I’m trying to learn how to see it as well as the announcer/commentator can see it.

Honestly dropping everyone except the reigning 1500m world champion is pretty impressive from Fisher. Not sure how else a 10k guy is going to win that race

Grants problem is he doesn’t really squeeze that well. Why he’s struggled to win USA titles without a pacers. He just runs a hard, but manageable pace that he can’t kick that well off of. Running 59-60s isn’t gonna shake Kerr. It’d be better to pump 60-61 and try and drop a 57 from the front. That is how Barega wins races.

With the women's 800 up next, it occurs to me that we haven't seen Ajee Wilson at all recently. Injury? Usually she races a lot indoors, especially Millrose.
