Leaving mid year while lasting less then a year at your job is a pretty bad look as a head coach
Can’t dismiss the whole story… We don’t know what happened that forced these coaches to leave. Either they did something the admin didn’t like and were forced to resign, or they were pushed over the edge and decided that their time and effort is worth more elsewhere. With our sport placed on the back burner at most schools, I’d speculate the latter. Interesting that it’s happening at a lot of schools as ITF is wrapping up.
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Director of Athletics Holly Schreiner has named Gabrielle Brown the interim head coach of SCSU Track & Field/Cross C...
Coach Brown was hired in August with the *interim* tag. It is entirely possible that the position has to be posted again, even if they plan to retain her/she plans to stay. Might just be a formality before removing the interim tag.
Academy of Art does not either and look at their track record. You can bee good at anything if that is the route you want to go. It does not have to be distance minded.
It also depends on what administration wants and wants to fund and support. Lots of places lack facilities and assistant coaches, as well as budget. So the best way to be successful is to go distance. This is the way.

Let's be supportive and not speculate. Life happens and leaving a job is not always bc you were let go. Lets not be bashers on here. Get's old and hurts peoples reputations.
This will be the trend. The low pay and hours is causing good coaches to leave in waves. The pandemic probably taught what balance looks like and unsustainable in this day and age. Especially for those with families and young children.
I definitely agree. The problem is there's always 100 people behind the one that quits that is submitting an App to be the next coach at that pay scale. And they know it.
Really wondered about this on as a MN HS coach. Saw the post yesterday, check and nothing was noted. Checked again today and entire staff is scrubbed from their site.
