I give them credit for coming. This could be demoralizing and so many of the best from the West just skipped it. Wish the Olympic standards came out after this.
Look at the depth of the ETH, KEN and UGA though. No other countries would make top 10 unless they limit to 3 athletes per country. Then every other country would be fighting for 10th! Mind you few Europeans made the trip to Oz ...
Well, watching those three countries fight for an Olympic team title would be epic. I say teams of 5 with 4 scoring….this current race is amazing, but in the Olympics it would have so many more eyes on it. It would be great for the sport writ large. Needs to be a real xc course, like this one.
