The 4x8 will be extremely competitive this year in the post season and at state. Mason ran 7:53 by themselves at the GMC and X has 4 guys running very fast. Buckle up because it should be fun to watch! Plus with Medina and Mentor already running fast as well. Who know who will come out of no where and surprise folks.
Coffman is probably #2 or #3 in the region as far as their ceiling. But no one is touching Lancaster in the 4x8. It's not even close if they run their top guys.
Not this week, not next, not in Pickerington, and not in Columbus in 3 weeks... nope.
Steele District Girls 4x800m will be super competitive!!! (ohiomilesplit has not updated Westlake's 9:20 and Rocky River's 9:39 from their Conference Meet from Tuesday)
1. Westlake 9:20.06
2. Olmsted Falls 9:34.90
3. Rocky River 9:39.70
4. Avon 9:39.85
5. Avon Lake 9:42.42
6. Steele 9:42.89
7. Magnificat 9:50.68
And I am sure all of these teams will be even faster next week!!! Any other 4x800 (boys or girls) District that will be this intense??
Nice effort by Bexley's Mason Louis at Upper Arlington last Friday. Louis won the 400 in 47.00 over Pick Central's Troy Lane who was 3 seconds behind in 50.00. Louis also took the 200 in 21.19. Lane won the 100 in 10.36.
Not biggest - those are in the Cinci area. Mason, the Lakotas, Centerville, Beavercreek, etc, all have over 1000 boys. These schools are more like 700 boys, putting them at #27 (Davidson), #28 (Orange), #34 (Coffman) and #35 (Liberty) statewide.
But they're definitely some of the fastest. That XC meet in the fall must be brutal.

The Central Region 4x8 will be very competitive for those top spots.
I am wondering what Gabelman's split was for his anchor leg of WN's 4x800 performance. I thought that WN would be an outside contender but based on what has been mentioned on this page 16 of this thread, thus far, they have the fastest time listed. Will WN make it to Columbus in June?
Needless to say, the SE Regional meet 4x800 will be dynamite. Of course, Lancaster is the heavy favorite, but will they stumble?

Around 1:56, but he was alone after the 1st 20 meters
In that OCC Capital Division 4x800 race Worthington Kill-Born finished third with a time of 8:02, with their three studs of Miller, Smith, and Hawkins running the first three legs (in that order). It appears that they wouldn't be competitive enough to get to Columbus in June.

Have they gone sub-8:00 yet?
Don't think so. They were leading after 3 legs, but then had a freshman (?) anchor in about 2:07. I don't see them advancing.
Nick Plant won the ACC 800m title in 1:47.41. Ran 1:47.18 in his prelim heat. Hopefully bigger and better things are on the horizon for the Canfield grad.
Nathan Mountain won the ACC 3000m steeplechase title in 8:32. He also ran the 5000m and finished 11th with a time of 14:12.
