Being suspended and losing scholarships are a deterrent.
Price to pay to save woman’s sports.
Should all of the swimmers in the 100, 200 and 500 have pulled your stunt? How about the 100 or so runners in Eastwood’s NCAA XC regional? Your plan is pretty random. If Thomas had swam the 1650, the swimmers in the 100 would have been saved. If I was was one of the swimmers scheduled to sacrifice my education, I would call Tanya Harding to arrange for Thomas to be whacked in the knee the night before the race.
What price are you willing to pay to save women’s sports?
And even those who lost to Thomas in 500 earned precious points for their teams. Two other things to consider.
1. This was Thomas' last college meet. There is no point in trying to stop Thomas from competing in future meet because there is none for Thomas.
2. NCAA will have a new policy for swimming next season, and yet another one starting in 23-24. There is no point in protesting the rule which will not be in use for any future event.
No point in discussing with those that disagree that biological males should not compete against females. Logic and facts don't matter for some that believe feelings are paramount.

The NCAA will have to win in court for #3 to happen.

Tranny's need therapy not a podium.
I think Republican Gov of Utah, Spencer Cox, has articulated very well why the banning of trans girl athletes from middle school and high school sports is both mean spirited and bad policy. Sadly the veto will be over ridden. What we are witnessing is nothing more than mass bullying of some of the most vulnerable people in our communities all in the name of protecting something that is under absolutely no threat from trans participation, women’s athletics.
SALT LAKE CITY (March 22, 2022) – Today, Gov. Spencer J. Cox signed 21 bills. The governor also vetoed one bill. This brings the total number of signed or vetoed pieces of legislation from the 2022 General Legislative Session...

Another leftist trafficking in nebulosity. "Mean spirited" and "bad policy" are terms that can't be quantified. Since they can't be quantified, an argument against them can't be formulated.

You are as nuts as Flag Pole Willy. A 6'4" man with 5% body fat, balls that manufacture testosterone (which the competitors are banned from taking btw), and a heart stroke volume 10% or more greater than everyone in the race just stole a championship from a woman. Theft. The fact that you see nothing wrong with that is very telling of your morals. In fact, you are blaming the protesters and calling them bullies. You are a pathetic POS.

If you read what he said he does quantify:
75,000 high school school kids participating in high school sports in Utah
4 trans gender kids playing high school sports in Utah
1 trans gender student playing girls sports
86% of trans youth reporting suicidal thoughts
56% of trans youth having attempted suicide.
All this discussion and controversy and the priority is to ban 1 vulnerable kid. Are supporters of the ban also supportive of introducing help and support for trans HS kids to reduce their suffering/suicides? If so, where are the bills for this?

I think you will find most people support getting these kids additional psychology help.
Gee if those numbers are correct it should bring into question how the whole issue is being approached and why people are so intent on encouraging kids to embrace something so miserable and self-destructive and acting like it is just a harmless lifestyle choice. In recent years it has become a social contagion, but at the root of it the phenomenon is a serious mental disorder. Only we are now forbidden to say that. We have to treat a serious disorder as an identity and affirm it as early as grade school. Insanity.
Anyway, it is meaningless that trans youth are vulnerable. Lots of people with psychological and emotional disorders are vulnerable, and maybe they are drawn into being trans due to these underlying issues, as a misguided attempt to escape emotional problems. But we are not reorganizing education or how we approach sports for them. And if the issue involves so few people then all the more reason why fixating on it and making special accommodations makes no sense. Because even if a small phenomenon, the swimmers Thomas competing against were still treated very unfairly.
Yes, Governor Cox believes the feelings of four transexuals is more important than assuring fairness for thousands of female athletes.
What Cox is really afraid of is the woke liberal mob.
Can someone explain to me how competing against girls makes trannies feel better about themselves? Very pathological if that is the case.
You realize there are approximately 35, 000 cis girls playing school sports in Utah and only 1 trans girl, one who by all accounts is toiling away on some obscure JV type team, yet the Utah state legislature has seen fit to spend time to debate and pass a state wide law to ban effectively just this single individual. In doing so, the state will open up the schools to lawsuits that could cost the state millions to defend even if the state prevails, money that instead could be used to raise the salaries of the coaches of girls’ teams, improve their facilities, pay for travel, whatever. Yet, this law is needed to “defend” women’s sports. Defend it against the unseen hoard of trans athletes just waiting to participate, but who have yet to bother. The idea that the participation of this lone trans girl is compromising the fairness of competition of “thousands of girls” in the state is absurd. In the end it’s going to hurt everybody, including cis athletes, both girls and boys, by the thousands, and helps nobody in need of help.
What is transgenderism? We're talking about men with dysphoria or autogynophilia, but they're still men. We make social considerations like pronouns to make their lives easier, but they will always be men. You know this, and I know this.
I will not be forced to pretend someone else's fantasy is real if the don't respect me as a woman. It is a fantasy to think that a man can become a women. It's complete misogyny, as well, since we all know that this is only about male identified trans people. Women who identify as men don't even count in this discussion.

Where is this support then? Where's is the policy to increase support for mental well-being for kids? Where are the resolutions to substantially decrease suicides? Instead politicians have banned 1 kid from HS sport.

Except when studied, there are no drugs or talking therapies that work to make someone feel more comfortable with the gender they are "supposed to be" or give them an identity they don't have. Most trans people see a psychiatrist at some point and they are often given antidepressants. But if the root of their anxiety is being trans and there is no way for them not to be, then acceptance and reconciliation of their existence as trans is necessary, not denial.
Hormones can relieve feelings of gender dysphoria in adults. Puberty blockers can temporarily stop anxiety surrounding changes to the body and give time to a professional to work out what is best for a child. Both these options are severely under threat in the current moral panic we find ourselves.
Lia Thomas deserved to be booed. He had complete agency in whether or not he would swim on the women's team with male advantage. Furthermore, he exposed himself in the locker room while the girls changed in front of him. He made them uncomfortable and he knew it. Lia Thomas doesn't deserve our respect. He's a privileged bully.
