Totally incorrect. His goal is to win the race. He had a .001% chance at the start. Midway through it, his odds went up at least 10 or 20 times that. He did hte only thing possible to give him shot a win.
You may be right, but at his level, a better goal would be top American or to place as well as possible. A world marathon major isn't the race to try to run away from an elite field.
