When Russia drew up this war plan, and someone said, “China will support us, no matter what happens!” Everyone agreed.
These are the “geniuses” guiding Russia through this.
NATO is going to play the long game on this, letting Russia become weaker, poorer, and more isolated by the month. They will keep Ukraine afloat in this war for years if necessary. The sanctions will further isolate and impoverish Russia and it will turn into a big North Korea. Or the Russian people will tire of being poor and unable to leave Russia and revolt.
What do you think Russia’s end game is here?
No way Russia will ever be able to return to Kyviv, they will get totally destroyed if they try. All they can hope for is steal some land down south, that means they have lost this war, but did win a few battles. All Russia can do now is be happy they gained some land.
They can still, and will, bomb Kyiv at some point until they destroy the city. Russians (and their fans here) don't measure winning in terms of territory exclusively. They measure it for more in terms of how many people they kill and lives they can destroy. So they are happy with places like Mariupol where they've killed around 50,000 people and destroyed the entire city. That's a huge victory in the minds of Russians.

sort of a mystery why RU hasn't flattened Kyiv. I mean why not? After you kill one person you might as well keep killing. What's the difference?

Kyiv is about the size of Dallas (excluding Fort Worth). Ukraine forces did a pretty good job of strategically fortifying the city and making it difficult for Russia to move supplies down from Belarus. Russia tried to bomb their way into Kyiv but suffered very significant losses every time they tried to push into Kyiv. Bucha is almost 20 miles outside of the center of Kyiv to put the Russian advance on Kyiv into perspective. Russia was definitely trying to replicate its Grozny/Aleppo playbook (gain ground by shelling the crap out of everything within range instead of trying to actually engage the Ukraine forces). But Kyiv is just too big and was also well defended. And Russia spread itself too thin across Ukraine. Mariupol is a small city. It took the Russians weeks to be able to corner Ukraine forces in the steel mills and they still have not been able to completely gain control of the city despite bombing it from land, sea and air. The Russian army has not engaged with a modern and reasonably well equipped military since the fall of the Soviet Union. The separatists in Chechnya were a pretty rag tag bunch that cobbled together weapons from the black market and whatever they could steal off of Russian forces. Same for the rebel in Syria. While Russia has a massive advantage in terms of numbers and weaponry, they are pretty inept when it comes to strategy and execution. The Russians are pretty terrible at training forces for combat. Russian war games are a joke compared to what Western forces do. So, when Russia invaded, it really had only one move that it could rely on. It pushed forces forward as far as they could by bombing whatever was in front of them. Russian generals see soldiers as consumables like bombs and ammunition. But without well rehearsed coordination between artillery, ground forces and air/sea forces, the Russians have not been at all effective and have sustain heavy losses whenever they engage with Ukraine forces.
Ultimately, Russia could go all in and double or triple its numbers in Ukraine. But Russia has lost a lot of heavy equipment and may not have what it needs to support overwhelming numbers of soldiers in Ukraine. Ukraine could end up being a reverse Leningrad for Russia. This is why you see Russia ratcheting up its rhetoric and cutting off gas to Poland and Bulgaria. They know that they are in trouble if the West keeps supplying weapons to Ukraine forces.

Germany has agreed to deliver anti-aircraft tanks to Ukraine, the German Defense Ministry announced on Tuesday, a move that underscores a major shift in its approach to providing military help to Ukraine.
Germany have now pledged to send heavy weaponry to Ukraine. This is another big win for Ukraine (and NATO).
Russian leaders will be worried over this announcement.
Looks like that means more dead Russian soldiers! 👍 Watched an awesome video today of a Russian tank getting absolutely obliterated by a ATGM. Ammo kicked off and *poof* three more dead Ruskies! 👍
Earlier on Saturday, the chief of Russia's Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Protection Troops revealed US plans to stage provocations to accuse Moscow baselessly of using chemical, biological, or even tactical nuclear weapon...

Germany's Military is a Major Force it took the USA and USSR combined to defeat them, Stallingrad weakened Germany enough to make Normandy possible. Imagine how much Germany's Military has improved after 80 years of Improvement and raising Physical and Intelligence Standards? Germany is rarely mentioned along with USA, Russia and China as a top Military, but one on one Germany would be a Nightmare for any of them and USA NOW has only about 39% of Men ages 17-30 who could qualify for Special Forces. UFC Fighter and Green Beret Tim Kennedy said the Special Forces are not fully staffed, High Schools need to do better at Conditioning students not just Athletes, The High School kids have not improved much since the 1960's-1980's for whatever reason, Many High School Kids can NOT even do 20 pull ups

Vlad and his mouthpieces have been threatening nukes for weeks, but now claim that NATO is provoking with WMDs? Yeah, that is credible.
And the U.S. & NATO better take those threats seriously & back down with the military support for Ukraine. Do you people have any idea of the destructive power of Putin's Satan 2 ICBM? It can hit anywhere in the world & carries at least 10 MIRV warheads packing an 800kt yield for each warhead!

Remember what Einstein once said: WW3 will surely be fought with nuclear weapons with WW4 being fought with sticks & stones.
Who exactly is the "tough talk" script supposed to appeal to? It almost sounds like you are trying to convince yourself that Russia isn't a giant dumpster fire. Putin isn't going to use nuclear weapons against the west. Threatening to do so is a giant tell that Russia is even weaker than they appear.

Hey, this PAID Russian troll has rejoined us. He was gone quite a while and I think had a different name. But easily recognizable with the admonitions that America and its Allies should all back down because of "Putin's Satan 2 ICBM" and it performance characteristics (not to mention the weird use of ampersands).

When available, Satan is awesomely destructive. Of course, it would be met with retaliatory nukes from many countries. If Putin is determined for destruction of civilization, only poison or a bullet from a comrade can stop him.
Of course NATO won't stop arming Ukraine simply because they don't have an off ramp, just as Putin doesn't have an off ramp. If Putin had the chance to cut his losses with a face saving partial victory, would he do it? If Putin offered an off ramp to NATO, would they take it? The answer the the second question likely is "no", if for no other reason than no one trust Putin to really adhere to a deal. The de-Nazification was BS. The focus on just Ukraine is BS as he is now talking about Transnistria. Europe has watched him with Chechnya, Georgia, Belarus and now Ukraine. He has threatened Finland despite the fact that the sentiment for NATO membership is all due to Putin's hostility toward other countries.
Biden said today that he is open to a neutral Ukraine. What will Putin's answer be (other than false flag assassinations of TV presenters and raining metal darts on civilians?
This isn't even close to the level of brinksmanship we saw in the cold war. Wake me up when someone actually goes to high nuclear alert. Until then I'm content watching Russia get smashed to bits by NATO arms in conventional war. Good times.

Why wouldn't Putin use nukes against the West? He's basically fighting a proxy war against the U.S. already. The U.S. is supplying Ukraine will all this military aid including high-tech weaponry. The U.S. is supplying Ukraine with key military intelligence from satellite & drone surveillance.
And what's the end game here? Does Putin withdrawal from Ukraine & go back in disgrace where he'll be the laughingstock of every Russian citizen? And wouldn't he be wanted for war crimes & be considered a fugitive? And wouldn't Ukraine want tens of billions of dollars from Russia for war reparations? Is Russia going to turn over Putin to an international war tribunal and gladly agree to pay billions to Ukraine for destroying their country? Lol. No...more than likely NATO would have to invade Russia and apprehend Putin the hard way, as well as force Russia to pay up.
And if Putin doesn't withdrawl - how much longer can this death & destruction go on before Putin loses his composure & does something stupid with the world's most powerful nuclear arsenal?

The Satan 2 is already available, and has been for awhile. So is Russia's hypersonic Tsirkon cruise missile which can exceed mach 9 & carries a respectful 200kt warhead.
That pales in comparison to Russia's Posiden super-torpedo. This monster can exceed 70 knots traveling at a depth of 1k. It packs a 2 MEGATON warhead! Can you imagine the destructive force of one of these torpedoes slamming into a American coastal city?
Russia test-fired around 10 new Tsirkon (Zircon) hypersonic cruise missiles from a frigate and two more from a submarine, Interfax news agency said on Friday citing northern fleet.

Defcon 3 if this thing is anything like the rest of the Russian military there’s a 90% chance it blows up in the silo and turns Russia into a radioactive wasteland. Not that that would be a big change from its current sh*thole status. Russia’s most reliable nuclear weapons are the dumb soldiers that spent a few weeks rolling around in the Red Forest.
