I think that means his samples results cannot ever be publicly declared again. There is no doubt in my mind they are testing the samples every single year, that goes for all the retired athletes.

Haven't they publicly stated that they have destroyed all the testing samples?
I think even the 2008 samples have been destroyed, so Kiprop's can't be re-tested either.
But I know Asbel Kiprop and Sils Kiplagat and Caleb Ndiku and Nixon Chepseba are clean, and their training is very much less professional than the training of El Guerrouj, that of sure had more continuity in his own preparation.
Oh yeah, Asbel only started taking drugs when he started to get lazy and not do the training.
What happened to Nixon Chepseba btw? sub 3:30 guy at 21 then appears to fall off a cliff and become a 3:40 runner in his mid-twenties???

El Guerrouj had a big talent, not inferior to the talent of Kenyan.
So, for me it's not something out of his possibilities what he did in his career, also if completely clean.
When you work with some of the top athletes in the World, you know they are clean and see their results, I don't see any reason for thinking other great talents could not do their results without external help.
And don't forget that, as morphology, El Guerrouj was more similar to Kenyans than to the other Maroccans, more muscular, like Ramzi of Kaouch.
Looks like you got it wrong on Kiprop.
Were you as sure about Kipsang? You worked with him and claim to know they are clean.

What it looks like depends on who's looking. Appearances can be deceiving, especially to those who lack specific knowledge, and must use assumptions to bridge the knowledge gap.
But does it? Does it look like Kiprop doped in 2013? What do you see that makes you say that?
I saw a spreadsheet from 2016, and a test result from 2017.
These don't really show anything about 2013.
Also keep in mind that Kipsang was busted for whereabouts violations. Missing testing is not the same as asking if he was clean.
Wow even after athletes have been busted there are still people with single digit IQ's that come along and protect them. Clown world.
This only proves that we see what we want.
Am I protecting Kiprop now? I thought I was protecting Renato's statement from 2013.
I always think I'm protecting intellectual and logical integrity by highlighting flawed logic and biased assumptions.
I only asked "ukathleticscoach" what he sees now, in 2020, that makes him think a statement made in 2013 looks wrong.
It is the single digit IQ that concludes that questioning flawed logic based on incomplete facts and biased assumptions is the same as protecting an athlete convicted of doping.
I bought his urine sample and flushed it away; no positive or negative test for El G. Just greatness...yup...definitely didn't mix it in with a bottle of lube

I thought we figured out a long time ago that Canova might be a "great" coach when it to dialling up insane workouts for Kenyan runners, but completely and utterly clueless when it comes down to knowing or caring if they are on drugs or not.
What do you think the odds are of those 4 names he just spouted out that all 4 of them were part of the Kenyan ramshackle doping carousel? We know for certain Kiprop was so that's one down...
As for El G? I mean, yeah, well. The guy ran 3.26.00 in about the least optimal way ever running 39.6 for the last 300 after 54.2/56.4/55.8 for his first 3 laps. Just the thought of how difficult that is makes my eyes water. It was the era (shrugs shoulders)

Oh really?
Why don't you post this under your real name?
Much easier to attack Renato as an anonymous coward, isn't it?
Yeah, I'm anonymous, but I am not attacking anyone like cowards do.
Which part(s) of that post do you object to? Canova was indeed wrong about Kiprop being clean; he was also wrong to state that no one from Sang's group would ever dope.
This is significant because at the Olympic level you can't just decide to drop a field like that, because someone will sit on you and out kick you. He was on another level that day when compared to the other best runners in the world and he's not considered a super talent like Rudisha or Asbel Kiprop. Even Asbel can't just decide to drop a field in a 1500.
The current crop of 1500m runners is very weak. Kiprop and Kiplagat are the only semi-regular sub 3:30 guys. Everyone else has a hard time breaking 3:32. Therefore, you CAN just decide to drop a field like that. Just like Farah does in the 5000m and 10000m.
And yes, Kiprop could do it to on the right day. When he ran 3:27 this year, how many other people ran under 3:30? How many ran sub 3:32?
Thank God this era is over. Sh!t ton of guys under 330 every year now. Yes the shoes help but even so it feels like we are in a MUCH better era of the 1500/Mile now- possibly the best era ever. So glad the 2008-2016 nonsense era is over
