Weird take. He looked very reminiscent of Centro getting unboxed and easily mowing down guys. Maybe I’d be dubious of winning gold, but he had gears and no panic. That’s a key to medaling.
Hocker did fine. Didn’t panic knowing he had the best close.
I pretty much never worry about being boxed in. Maybe once in 100 times I or one of my athletes has been prevented from getting free on the home stretch. But I had my doubts today about whether Hocker would get out of that box. It was very crowded, and he was moving the wrong direction for most of the final lap.
But if he was worried, he didn't show it AT ALL. He is brimming with confidence right now, as is Kessler in the next tier.
