There was some hanky panky going on between the two of them when she was a minor and he was her high school coach.
Plus he pretended through email that he was a college coach at the University of Oregon and tricked Wiley's mom into letting Wiley go on a fake college visit to Oregon. (Wiley knew the trip was fake, but her mom didn't.)
I'm surprised her father couldn't sniff out what was happening.
When Wiley was in high school, Wiley's father didn't live with her and he actually had very little contact with her. So he might not have known that the trip was happening.

That's why I put kidnapping in quotations. Wouldn't a kidnapper use deception to lure a victim. Would you not conclude that what NJ did would qualify as deception?
We're parsing words. The whole scenario was bad and it's awful that AW had to experience it. Why anyone would defend that scum NJ is beyond me.
"To prove prima facie defamation, a plaintiff must show four things: 1) a false statement purporting to be fact; 2) publication or communication of that statement to a third person; 3) fault amounting to at least negligence; and 4) damages, or some harm caused to the reputation of the person or entity who is the subject of the statement."
You missed one.
5) If the victim is a public figure, then the statement must have been made with "actual malice". Which means knowing it was false or with reckless disregard as to whether it was true.
There's a reason athletes don't file defamation lawsuits against random fans or people online. I'll name a few since you seem confused.
- Plaintiff needs to prove malicious intent. This is very hard to do. Normally in actual defamation cases malicious intent is tied to some type of monetary gain for the defendant.
- Very hard, if not impossible to prove that posters on a small internet message board caused true harm to the reputation of plaintiff. Now if ESPN picked up the story and made 100% false statements, that would be a different story.
- False statements need to be just that. False. A "partially" false statement with elements of truth don't carry nearly as much weight.
- Adding to this point, plaintiff needs to PROVE that the statement is false. Have fun opening that can of worms.
- Addy get's paid by her sponsor Adidas. For the case to hold any weight Adidas would need to confirm that user "Astro" on internet forum LetsRun.com impacted the contract eventually offered to Addy. Additionally, other sponsors would need confirm that Astro was the reason they never offered a contract to Addy in the first place.
- Plaintiff needs to prove that the defendant KNEW the statement was false. If Astro heard xyz from a HU athlete, believed whole heartedly it was a true statement, and phrased that statement as a fact online, it would be hard to argue actual malice.
Hmm, I guess it must be "vote manipulation" because everybody knows about NC State. Geiger MARRIED his athlete. NC State knew what was going on and did nothing about it. He's still there after something like 30 years. Huntington Univ has the morals to fire their coaches immediately for things like this.
And don't forget the NC State athlete that was under so much stress that she jumped off a bridge at NCAAs during the race. What a program they have in Raleigh.
I assume that most people were unaware. The Tuohy fans mainly came into the sport through her high school career and they graduated to being NC State fans. Many will move to the pro ranks and lose interest in what is going on in college.
By the way, you might want to man up at some point and put an end to this crap. You can say all you want about "We don't want every thread about Wiley turning into talk about Huntington/Johnson/drugs" but that is EXACTLY what you allow every time. Of course, since you are "proud" (your words) to host pornographic stories about real living teenage girls on your website, then I guess you must enjoy all this talk.
You tried to act all tough and start one thread where you wrote, "DO NOT POST THE NAMES OF ANYONE NOT NAMED IN THE INDY STAR ARTICLE. The police report has additional names. Do not mention them here please," but that was all just an act. You are far too weak. You can't even fix a damn toilet and are too damn cheap, despite living off your rich daddy's money, to call a plumber to do the work. You would never give any money to one of those peasants who actually works for a living. I also remember you were asked if you would give money's to Wiley's fundraiser for kids with cancer and you blew off that too. I guess the cancer kids got what they deserved.
Doesn't matter, we are all going to watch Wiley go on to the Olympics this year and you can sit at home, a 50-yo man who doesn't even know how to call a cab for a ride.
And I don't give a damn if you don't like my opinion that only pedophiles host child porn online. I EARNED my right to my opinion in Iraq with the 1/38th Infantry. Tell, me, which unit did you serve with? I know there is no way you could possibly have watched 3000 Americans die on television on 9/11 and not gone down to the recruiter and signed up to fight like a lot of us did. Some of us didn't get our right to our opinion by sliding out of the birth canal of an American woman; we earned it on a battlefield. Please, identify your unit and which province you were located in. I remember the country of Iraq pretty well.
