Summary:
- Guy tried to be funny, but read the audience wrong.
- Molly is super smug. Likely partially a reason why she is single.
- Molly needs a PR manager to adjust her charisma to be more likeable. This isn't uncommon for new celebrities or necessarily a "bad" thing.
- Dating and socializing a lot more outside the world of running or with less smug people would probably help her out a lot. Surrounding herself in circles where she is "olympic medalist, best American runner" and not much else isn't exactly the best environment to build social skills that help in building good relationships.
- The citius mag podcast/interview is soooo cringy, especially when it gets to listener questions. The nature of that segment sets the interviewee up to come across as self important, feeding her things like naming the mt. rushmore of beer or asking for dating life updates, in a serious tone. The natural tendency is to respond in ways that feel witty and hip, but most often such responses come across as self important or smug. Late night talk show hosts have both mastered the way to conduct interviews to prevent the guests coming across this way, along with mastering the ability to present themselves as not being smug or self-important. They do this by keeping things funny, and if not funny, then at least REALLY fun. The citius people need to improve on this aspect, and as does Molly, to avoid the trap of falling into cringy self importance/seroiusness.
