For some it was $1,400 they didn't need. But for others it was the difference between the kids having enough to eat. (And for many others, it meant getting $0 because you make too much money.)
And what happens when those local governments fail?
And what happens when all those small businesses fail and people lose their jobs?
You can argue that it was too expensive, but you can't deny that it relieved suffering for a lot of people.
Agip is right. We'd be more like Europe right now without AMRP.
Those families that evidently needed the $1,400 to feed their kids lost $5,000+ this year as a result of the inflation it produced. Getting $1,400 at the expense of $5,000 is a bad trade if you ask me.
You said yourself that AMRP caused an extra 2% to 4% of inflation. Even at 4%, a poor family would need inflation-affected expenses of $125,000 to lose $5,000 to the AMRP.
Do you think poor families spend $125,000 per year?
Schumer is looking at Biden like a proud father who just witnessed his baby boy finish a plate without leaving food all over his face for the first time. The vacant stare, the gaping mouth, it's so obvious by now.

Cheney is the fourth pro-impeachment House Republican to lose renomination (four of the other six opted to retire). The Trump-endorsed Hageman is poised to become the fourth straight GOP woman to represent #WYAL.
This is from last year, Biden is clearly suffering severe cognitive decline. It continues to get worse.
You are so f*cking stupid. RT? Really? When Biden starts stealing classified documents about nuclear weapons and tries to overturn a fair election, get back to me.
You have to be Sally posting under another name. For my own need to have the world not have too many dumb people in it, I can't find it in me to believe that there are TWO such monumentally stupid people who post here...so you and Sally MUST be the same person.

Biden has dementia and for the thousandth time, this is not the Trump thread. Stop deflecting.
And we've arrived at the point where the 'conservative' 'law and order' party welcomes felons as their nominee to be president and shrugs 'eh so what...felony criming who cares.'
So much worse that Watergate or Teapot Dome. The criminals are taking over the nation.
Once again, we learn that to 'conservatives,' being a 'criminal' can only happen for certain crimes, certain races, certain socio-economic statuses, certain political beliefs. Old white Republicans just aren't criminals no matter what laws they break.
We're doomed.
The Intellectualist @highbrow_nobrow 🚨 NEW: “Being a felon is not a disqualification,” Hannity said. “So even crimes potentially far more serious than what is being alleged, potential mishandling of classified information, doesn’t stop somebody from seeking the presidency.”
Repubs (the law and order party) are always trying to lock up murders while Gascon and other Dems are continually trying to release them so they can murder again.
I hate to break it to you, Dems, but someone who murders at 17 ain't going to stop murdering when he is 22. Lock them up and throw away the key. Use some common sense for a change.
One LA County deputy district attorney is speaking out and calling George Gascón's "blanket policy" of releasing certain violent inmates a “ticking time bomb.”

I agree with the idea that there's some weird anti-prosecutorial thing going on in some big cities. Apparently it's become very hard to lock up criminals. They get arrested and released time and again.
That needs to swing back the other way right quick like.
YOU ARE WELCOME, Republicans. We did this for you and for us, and for those pesky independents. We did it for the nation, against every one of your elected officials votes.
You can thank us later, for doing good stuff to help people. Like you hated obamacare until you found out you love it, like you hated social security until you found out you love it, like you hated medicare until you found out you love it.
Carry on, Republicans. Resume your insurrection - the Dems have the wheel.
No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen @NoLieWithBTC If Democrats did not win the presidency or had ONE fewer Senate seat, we would not have just capped seniors’ prescription drug costs at $2,000/year, allowed Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices, and taken the biggest climate action in American history.
This is why we have skyrocketing inflation. And passing the Inflation "reduction" bill ain't gonna do anything for inflation - most likely make it rise even further.
Democrats are riding a wave of legislative successes between last summer and this year that few expected, and it totals $3.8 trillion in taxpayer money.
Trump just as clearly is not. He is the same BS artist he has always been
note that Carmine, 'leftist' is against the administration that accomplished these left of center benefits to the nation. Does he give biden and pelosi and schumer and the rest a pat on the back for helping the little guy like a good leftist hopes from gummint? Nah.

I watched the signing live as it happened. When you actually watch him for longer than your heavily edited 9 second clips you see clearly that there is nothing wrong with him.
Biden looked vigorous and victorious. It was a great day in America.
The Republican Party no longer believes in democracy. It only wants the people to select our leaders if they choose Republicans. Major alert.
daniel dale:
The winner of the Republican secretary of state nomination in Wyoming, Chuck Gray, falsely calls the 2020 election “fraudulent” and Biden’s victory “illegitimate,” says he “absolutely” believes Trump won, and urged Wyoming to join the 2020 lawsuit trying to overturn the result.
