I will admit that I bought that initially because I read some things that you likely tiondid about it. But then...I read the Act. Fat Hurts is correct...no tax increase on people making less than $400,000.
You could make an argument (though thin) that employees might see a hit to their earnings due to the corporate taxes or even that the markets could be negatively affected, but that's really as far as you can go on this.
Fat Hurts has given you the challenge...show us where in the Act it points out that there will be a tax increase on anyone making less than $400,000 per year...don't quote stuff from your "news" sources. Don't give me anything that anyone SAYS about it...pull out from the Act where what you say is true. You will not be able to do that.
So are you saying the Joint Committee on Taxation is lying when it says taxes are going up on 6 of 8 categories? The inflation "reduction" Act is 755 pages. You read all 755 pages? You can definitively say (having read all 755 pages) that no where in there do taxes go up on any income category?
If you want to double check your findings, and make doubly sure you are not misspeaking, here is the Act:
Taxes are going up in 6 of 8 income categories under $400,000, according to a non-partisan taxation group. Anyone who suggests otherwise is an outright liar and ought to be ashamed of himself or herself. Just outright lying.

How is spending $369 BILLION on Green provisions and raising taxes on manufacturers going to lower inflation??? Pumping more money into the economy will raise inflation as well as increasing taxes on those companies who make products. It is idiotic to think inflation will go down.

And don't forget that Sally claims to be an accountant. Anyone with that background should be able to explain a claim that the bill dictates that people making under $400,000 per year will pay a higher tax rate.
But Sally can't do it. At least one of these must be true:
1. Sally is lying about the bill.
2. Sally is lying about his degree and experience in accounting.
The only liar is you, you disgusting piece of trash.
Payback is coming for you.
You won’t know what hit you
Fat Hurts will NEVER address this ....
The Wall Street Journal’s conservative editorial page pointed to a study by Congress’ Joint Committee on Taxation that found that "average tax rates will increase for nearly every income category in 2023 under the bill. This gives the lie to Democratic claims that no one earning under $400,000 will pay more taxes under the bill, a promise Mr. Biden also made in his campaign. The reality is that the Schumer-Manchin bill is a tax increase on nearly every American."
Why would I care what a WSJ editorial says?
You say you are an accountant. So tell us which part of the bill raises tax rates on those making under $400,000 per year. If the editorial tells you which part of the bill does that then it should be easy for you to read that part of the bill and explain it to us.

Flagpole already said he doesn't think it will lower inflation.
I haven't made any judgement on that, except to point out that economists disagree.
Overall, it's a very good bill that will lower health care costs and help us fight global warming.

Fat Hurts - You do know that taxes are an indirect production cost, yes? This bill will increase taxes on manufacturers. That means that production costs have gone up. What happens to the prices of goods and services when production costs go up? They go up! So inflation goes up. Like duh!
Also, have you read the 755-page bill? If not, then you should probably be not discussing what it will do or will not do. I have read parts of it but not all 755 pages.

So, you HAVEN'T read the bill. Got it! So now please refrain from opining on it.

You are saying anything that causes prices to go up or down is a tax? Is that your explanation?
Is that the definition of "tax" that they taught you in accounting school?

Nope. Right now I only care what you say about it.
If anything Biden bouncing back from covid so easily proves the vaccines work.
An odd angle that proved the opposite of what you’re trying to say.
Nope. That’s moving the goalposts. Biden and health officials said you would never ACQUIRE Covid if you were vaccinated.
"You're not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations." -Joe Biden, POTUS, COVID+ since being vaccinated.
I am not arguing for or against the effects the jabs if you get infected, I am pointing out that Biden lied about not getting Covid if you’re jabbed.
This is a good reminder how the R embrace of Trumpism can hurt their conservative causes. Trump was an A++ liar, and an A++ corrupt, unethical moran in a dozen or more other ways, capped by trying to steal an election. But he did support a number of conservative causes.
Because he's so horrendous, thinking people will choose D politicians who are run-of-the-mill liars (say, B- liars, to include perhaps Biden) instead of Trump and other Rs. Just weighing pros and cons - simple sh** you'd hope all Americans would do. And the more Americans do this, the more Rs lose, and the fewer conservative causes are supported. Rs could lose on policy because they can't find a better leader than Trump (literally the easiest thing a human could do), or his now-ample imitators.
Rs just can’t face the fact their party is led by a criminal and is full of criminals.
they see criminals as a class of poors
who live in big cities and wear their pants low. Not white guys in suits who call themselves patriots and conservatives.
The hardest thing to see is what is right in front of their faces.
F/ckley:
The reason republicans get so incredibly huffy when any of the tools of law enforcement are ever turned upon them is they think “criminals” as an inherent class of people (who they of course could never be part of) rather than a descriptor for someone who commits illegal acts.
A BIG clue that this is counter-intelligence and a national security issue:
CNN
In early June, a handful of investigators made a rare visit to the property seeking more information about potentially classified material from Trump's time in the White House that had been taken to Florida. The four investigators, including Jay Bratt, the chief of the counterintelligence and export control section at the Justice Department, sat down with two of Trump's attorneys, Bobb and Evan Corcoran, according to a source present for the meeting.

Equals parts bad AND dumb.
Then it should be an easy 2024 election for the dems. The problem is that no one wants Biden in 2024, not even his own party to the tune of 75% based on a recent poll. That said, 55% of R’s said they don’t want trump in 2024 either.
Issue is that DeSantis is gaining steam for the R’s and the dems really don’t have anyone to match him as of now, as far as I can tell. Kamala is just as disliked as Biden, Hillary is terrible (she lost to Trump after all), Bernie is Bernie, Buttigieg isn’t inspiring. Newsom has been active lately so maybe he’s the guy for the dems in 2024.
Some polls show that independent voters aren’t happy with Biden and more and more minority voters are not happy with the social and cultural policies by the Left. People will pinch their nose to vote for someone they don’t like if they better represent their values and principles. I think dems underestimated how socially conservative many minority groups are. Who knows though, polling has been proven to be unreliable so it will be interesting.

Perhaps I should have been more careful about how I wrote that. Regarding weighing pros and cons, I said, "And the more Americans do this..." I did NOT say, "LOTS more Americans WILL do this." Far, far too few have (see Trump getting 47% of 2020 vote), and I don't see any great reason to believe that many more will.
But a certain number of conservatives and moderates have turned away from supporting and/or voting R, and that hurts conservative causes. Instead of acknowledging that, and saying, "Hey, we can do better. We can have better leaders AND not scare away principled conservatives and moderates," the great majority of Rs stick with Trump and Trumpism. I guess they figure that they'll lose more Trumpers than gain actual adults if they do otherwise. The erosion of democracy, honesty, decency, rule of law, etc., be damned.

I hear anti-D/Pro-R folks always talking about "value and principles," with little or no complaint made about Trump/Trumpism "values and principles." Please explain why what Rs might describe as excessive sympathy for illegal aliens or poor people or transgenders or minorities or the environment means EVERYTHING, and the utter lack of value and principles from Trump/Trumpism means essentially nothing? Which one of those distasteful liberal "value and principles" is MORE important than honesty? And Decency? (see COVID response and pretty much every time Donny opens his mouth). And Democracy? And rule of law? Trump/Trumpism embodies NONE of these fine value & principles.
The reality is that 30-40% of this country needs to wake up and realize that they are, quite objectively, self-insulting themselves when they claim that the current R party "better represents their values and principles."
Rs just can’t face the fact their party is led by a criminal and is full of criminals.

You think people still trust the FBI?
FBI said the Hunter laptop was russian disinfo. Now even the WaPo and NY Times admit it's legit. FBI refused to charge Hillary Clinton because her "extreme carelessness" did not meet the standard of "gross negligence" FBI lawyers lied and falsified documents to get FISA warrants on Trump and his staff FBI knew the Russian Dossier story was 100% fake but they still pushed it to hurt Trump FBI arrested Steve Bannon for "contempt of congress" but they did not arrest Eric Holder for the same offense. The FBI created the plot to kidnap Michigan governor Whitmer to make it seem like republicans were a domestic terrorist threat. The FBI has targeted parents speaking out against critical race theory and transgender propaganda in school, calling them domestic terrorists To name a few.
