Fats, this cool facility just opened in Switzerland. The video explains how it works. A take on the classic water battery. It stores a gigantic amount of energy for when needed. I'm very bullish on alternative energy sources like this.

"The massive spending package, which raises taxes for everyone except those making between $10,000 and $30,000 per year..."
Just more evidence that Fats is wrong, there are tax hikes if you make more than $30K/year.
There are no tax hikes in the bill for those making under $400,000. Republicans are lying.
Nobody has pointed to anything in the bill that raises taxes on individuals except hedge fund managers and tax cheats. Republicans are lying.
The JCT is saying that workers might be affected by corporate taxes some time in the future. But even the "Joint Committee" report does not say there will be a tax increase on those making under $400,000 per year. Republicans are lying.
Explain to me how people making under $10,000 per year will get a tax increase when people making that little don't pay federal taxes.
WASHINGTON – Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen today sent a letter to congressional leaders on the tax provisions included in the Inflation Reduction Act, and noted the bill would either reduce or have no effect on th...
Watching new trumpers learn one by one that Trump does not pay his bills is just *chef’s kiss*
On the day of President Biden’s inauguration, John Eastman suggested looking for voting irregularities in Georgia — and asked for (Giuliano’s) help in getting paid the $270,000 he had billed the Trump campaign.

Pretty much any potential site like this would be vetoed by the left. Locations with good abutments where you can install a nice, cheap arch type dam have almost all been exploited in this country. The most recent pump back hydro project proposed in the desert of Utah was canned because of opposition by the sierra club and tribal groups:

Yes, environmental impact is always a concern with any hydro project.
As much as I wish there were better solutions, it looks like lithium and sodium based battery cells will provide most of our energy storage in the future.
Besides pumped hydro, all the other clever energy storage solutions either lack enough research funding or will just never work at scale.
But that doesn't mean battery cells won't get the job done and move us to sustainable energy. They definitely will, given the right amount of government support.
It looks to me like the Inflation Reduction Act will pass. According to Politico, Sinema wants to keep the carried interest loophole and add $5 billion in drought relief.
Together, that would remove only $19 billion of the deficit reduction. So even if Manchin gives Sinema everything she wants, the bill will still reduce the deficit by $83 billion.

I don't see anything else standing in the way.
The name of that is piss poor.
What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet.

so crazy that sinema could ask for almost anything and get it....and she chooses the carried interest loophole to save. She chooses an obviously ridiculous tax dodge to protect. I'll never understand the allegiance to that thing politicians have. Just kill it. Make it d-e-d.

The carried interest loophole is so egregious that nobody will come out and defend it publicly. But Sinema is obviously beholden to someone who benefits.
In principle, I'm all for giving drought relief. I have no idea what Sinema actually has in mind for this relief, but whatever it is, she will probably get it.

Anyone who knows the causes of inflation knows that that Act does nothing to address inflation (and it couldn't). So, it comes off (correctly) as political BS.
Now, regarding names, "Be Best" was worse, but still, this one is not good.

You are just as delusional as Baghdad agip. Taxes ARE going up for those making OVER $30K/year. Those are the facts.

Uh................perhaps not. Bernie isn't fully onboard. He wants more pork.

Really?
Then why can't you point to anything in the bill that raises taxes on those making under $400,00 per year?

Do you consider it a ridiculous loophole for everyone, or only for hedge fund managers?
