Biden in 2019: "I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings,"
Now we know Biden met with at least 14 of Hunter’s business associates from the U.S., Mexico, Ukraine, China and Kazakhstan over the course of his vice presidency. Let's be honest, the only thing Biden and his criminal family have "built back better" are their own bank accounts.
I was reviewing the Covid news of the the day, when a question suddenly struck me.
Will Biden's dementia flare up post-Covid? Obviously, Biden has early stage senile dementia. It's common in 79-year-olds and we've seen his numerous gaffes. It seems to be controlled with medications, but it still surfaces once in a while.
One of the symptoms of Covid has been a lingering brain fog. Will it affect Biden? I think we will know within a couple of weeks after he recovers from his rebound Covid.
Wow. You are an idiot. How on Earth do you, with your supposed "Christian values" back Donald Trump who is one of, if not the most, sinful person ever to be elected to a national office in this country?
Prove to me that there is life after death. Prove to me that God exists and that I will be judged after I die. Prove to me that there is a lake of fire. Should be easy to find this lake of fire. If Heaven is filled with a$holes like you, then I wouldn't want to be there anyway. IF Heaven exists, there's no freakin' way you are headed there. Luckily for you, it doesn't exist (and neither does hell), and only those who know you who know you are an a$hole will be sharing stories after you pass about how big of an a$hole you are. That will be the only punishment you will suffer when you die. Not that bad I suppose, but well deserved.
Name calling is not an argument. You support groomers, the killing of unborn babies and like minded politicians- those are not Christian values at all. So look in the mirror before criticizing others.
Psalms 14:1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.
You sir are a fool and if you do not repent, the Lake of Fire will be your fate.
Fat hurts- here is your opportunity to defend the faith, are you going to allow Flagpole to deny God, ridicule Christians and the Bible too? Step up, dude.
This is why you are an a$$hole and a HUGE moron.
1) Groomers? That is such right-wing bullsh!t.
2) Embryos are not babies.
3) Why do you choose ONE God to believe in out of ALL of the Gods...nearly 18,000 that have been worshipped by humans over the years?
4) Do you honestly think that a Supreme being would banish the majority of humans to hell for not believing in him? 31.2% of the world is Christian (and dropping), and surely even among those who identify as Christian, some of them surely would not be allowed into Heaven. What an unkind and not loving God that is.
5) Your literal interpretation of The Bible is ridiculous.

Ummm . . . gonna go out on a limb here and guess that Flagpole doesn't need the Fat dude's permission to deny that there is a god.
Sorry, but I destroy all of you here regarding Biblical Scholarship. Part of the reason I am no longer a believer.
You wouldn't, and you never were a believer. You attended church, but you didn't believe in anything supernatural (and for some reason, didn't realize that other people at your church do).
I would. I was a believer (though never in any of the MAGIC). I submit that you can be a Christian and yet not take any of the stuff in the Bible literally and consider Jesus a great teacher. My father was a Methodist minister. I went to church every single Sunday until I was through college. My wife and I were both regular church goers then until my oldest was in high school. I was a part of every possible youth group. For a while there I was considering pursuing being a religious reporter. I taught Sunday school for years.
Beyond just being massively exposed to Christianity growing up, I have continued to have a big interest in it.
I have a liberal (and correct) view of Christianity, and I can school anyone here on the religion.
Flagpole does make some good points about Trump. Too many Christians have embraced Trump and his hedonism. It has hurt the Christian cause tremendously.
There are proofs of God's existence, but Flagpole also demands proof of the afterlife. I'm not aware of any afterlife proofs. One must have faith, which Flagpole does not share.
The best I have for someone like Flagpole is Pascal's wager, which in summary argues,
There are no valid proofs of God's existence just as there are no valid proofs for God's lack of existence.
And Pascal's wager is just silly. One cannot choose to believe in something because it may be beneficial to do so. One can only choose to pretend to believe in something if it is expedient to do so.
Yeah, this is true. Sorry Fat Hurts, GEICO is correct here.
How do you know which God to pick? 3,000 Gods are currently worshipped by current human beings. Why are they all wrong but those who pray to a Judeo Christian God are correct? And don't say because The Bible says so. Those other religions have certainty and punitive measures for non-believers also.
The fact of the matter is that almost without exception, people who are religious pray to the God that their family did, and very often that is dependent on the part of the world you happened to be born in. Such randomness can't possibly define the One True God...and it doesn't.
Let me know when you decide to believe that 2+2=5. And don't bother with "I don't want to." The reality is that you cannot.
Belief is certainly not a choice. That, like Pascal's wager, is a silly idea.
Belief is a choice. I definitely could believe 2+2=5 if I wanted to. People believe all kinds of nonsensical things. Take flat earthers for example.
Belief in nonsense is not only possible, it's rather common.
Flat Earthers believe in a flat Earth because they don't understand science, BUT they use their pseudo science to convince themselves that they are right.
Christians don't believe in God based on any rational or logical means or even any attempt at such things. Christians believe in God for these main reasons:
1) They have been told that God is real since they were a little kid by people they trust.
2) They are afraid not to believe, because they think there is a real possibility of being punished (hell) if they don't.
3) People want to be able to unload their worries. "Let go and let God." Submit your life to God. I actually think this does help a lot of people, but it's not because God is real. It is a way for them to not worry about things, because they know they will be ok in God's hands ultimately. There are other ways to let go of unnecessary worry without believing in a diety.
4) They can not fathom how the Earth, how the universe was made, and since they can't, that MUST mean that a Supreme being created it.
5) Now, unfortunately this one is ever increasing and is the sinister one of the bunch...people want to think they are better than others. They want to demonize those who don't believe, and they want to judge the actions of others. NO ONE who says they follow the Bible actually does that, or ALL Christians would be in prison for murder. We ALL know someone who works on or has worked on The Sabbath. Did you believers stone that person to death? I could go on and on and on about all the rules that you people don't follow and then all the things you say are in The Bible but aren't.
6) I do not think that all or even most Christians are bad people. A greater and greater percentage of them are each and every day though, and that's a shame. Christian nationalism is a thing in this country. Disgusting. I am interested in seeing people perform acts of kindness, charity, and grace, and if they get that due to ANYTHING...Christianity, Buddhism, Tony Robbins, Fred Rogers, the fact that it makes them feel good, I couldn't care less where it comes from. When people start saying that if you don't buy the Christian myth that you are going to hell, that's just too much for me, and it's flat BS.
Medicare drug price negotiation. The bill would empower Medicare to negotiate prices of certain costly medications administered in doctors' offices or purchased at the pharmacy. Inflation cap. The legislation would also impose penalties on drug companies if they increase their prices faster than inflation. Tax provisions: To boost revenue, the bill would impose a 15% minimum tax on corporations, which would raise $313 billion over a decade. Climate provisions: The deal would be the biggest climate investment in US history. It would slash US greenhouse gas emissions 40% by 2030, Schumer's office said.

Why would anyone be against this? Because the R party is virtually completely framed on the idea that anything the Ds want is Socialism, government waste, against common sense and will probably help black people more than white people. And be all about power rather than trusting good ol' boys. That's why they would be against this.
What is the "Great Exalt"? Do you all become exalted?
It's this gig we get going. High quality people. Truly some of the best Americans you can find. We get together and do some exalting exercises, have discussion about issues facing those seeking exaltation. And do some boozing, to be honest.
Did you go to church today? It's Sunday. The Sabbath. A day of penitence. There shall be no work or frivolity on the Sabbath. You shouldn't even be on the internet, Fatnessism. But I guess if are discussing matters of faith (MOF) with me, it's okay.
I didn't go to church because I have covid.
What are "exalting exercises"? What does one do to get exalted?

The fact you are so triggered by the word “groomer” makes me think you are one.

The best I have for someone like Flagpole is Pascal's wager, which in summary argues, If we live as though God exists, and He does indeed exist, we have gained heaven. If He doesn’t exist, we have lost nothing.
And yet that's not true, is it? If you're a believer and a member of a religion, you will have lost time, energy, money, and *freedom* in the only life that you get.
Moreover, what is there *is* a supernatural, divine being (SDB)--but not the one you worship? And what if that SDB is jealous, and condemns all of those who worship the god-of-Abraham to eternal torture after death--while letting everybody else just die? You cannot *prove* that that isn't the case.
Finally, why is it that no one ever seems to think about what "eternal life" would mean? Someone gave me this image years ago:
Imagine a ball of lead the size of our sun i.e. bigger than a million Earths. Every hundred years a butterfly (immune to the ball's gravity somehow) flutters by, and brushes the ball once with a wingtip, liberating a few lead atoms--which, similarly immune to gravity, float away.
When that ball of lead is worn to nothing, long long long after the heat death of our universe, ONE SECOND of eternity will have elapsed. And eternity has an *infinite* number of such seconds.
Just imagine it. Every conceivable experience and sensation, over and over and over, with no possible escape--except perhaps through madness, and then it wouldn't really be *you* having eternal life, would it?
I don't expect eternal life will be at all similar to the human condition on earth. There is no madness or need to escape. It is paradise, which is beyond our comprehension. So thought experiments like the above are rather pointless.
This used to be the Biden thread, then it was the Tesla thread, now it appears to be the reliigion thread. Not hat that is bad - but maybe focus on Biden here?
Biden is a pretty good Christian. Nowhere near Trump’s level of Christian (3rd percentile), but still pretty decent. Hardly anyone can touch Trump on his degree of Christainism.
Trump is most definitely not a Christian. He is a hedonist.

It’s not a tax cut for rich people so they don’t like it.

Hmm. So you are saying Trump might use "covid brain fog" as a defense when he is prosecuted for January 6 crimes? That would be interesting.

Proofs for God's existence typically only prove that there is one supreme god.
Anything beyond that is covered in the study of Theology.
The Babel fish is a small, bright yellow fish, which can be placed in someone's ear in order for them to be able to hear any language translated into their first language. Ford Prefect puts one in Arthur Dent's ear at the beg...
And yet religious people live longer and happier earthly lives.

And speaking of Tesla, remember back on June 18 when I told you all, "As an investment, this probably the best time to buy Tesla stock that we will ever see again."
