Just curious where the close to $10,000 figure comes from. Also, wondering if any donors will come forward and demand proof their funds were passed along to the aforementioned charities.

In the first KL thread that was deleted, someone had e-mailed the CFF and asked about donations being made through World Record Run web site. The reply was that they knew of no donationa made to the site, which meant that either no donations were made, or donations made to the site were then bundled up and forwarded on under someone's name or something else happened.

ut oh? so there may have been some illegality?
This thread is dumb. Kip has gone into hiding, yet you are still focusing on him and not douchebag cheat wannabees like Dane Rauschenberg. These slimy cheating idiots are taking money from real runners every weekend, but you focus on some small time douche dentist.
Next expo you are at take a picture in front of Dane's 202 mile sign. Because you did not call him out, that sign is for you.
First: No here one cares about Dane
Second: Your 'proof' that he cheated is very circumstantial at best.
Third: Chuck is just as much of a douchebag as Dane

First: You should. You are prosecuting a medal whore while ignoring one who tries to hawk his toilet paper every week.
Second: Are you kidding me? Negative split (world record at that) from a guy who failed at 2 previous attempts at 100 miles and who is slow as hell?
Third: Chuck may be an ass, but all he does is win races. And when he doesn't, he doesn't give a thousand pathetic excuses. He is simply a runner. In my world, that still means something. Maybe one day it will mean something in yours.
I've read through some of this thread, but didn't see anything about the Georgia Marathon. Not sure if it was mentioned or not, but I may have been kipped. In 2009 I ran the Georgia Marathon in Atlanta with a buddy of mine. He ended up finishing ~20-30 secs ahead of me around 257 I think (have to check). There was not anyone between us except for some half marathoners walking it in. When we looked at the final results we were surprised to see there was a person between us. Then a few days after that the name disappeared from the results. The only reason I bring this up is that I remember the first name was Kip. We had a mutual friend named Kip and it is a rather unusual name. I don't remember the last name though. Could I have been Kipped too?
Nothing turns up in a search of "Kip Litton" in the 2009 Georgia Marathon results. A search of "Kip" turns up only Kip Haley.
did you check under David Litton?
or Rich Rodriguez or Kent/Kurt Litton (one of those brothers likely does not exist) or Ben Millefoglie
The OP says he was in the results named Kip, and then disappeared. Anyone know the RD? Maybe he got DQ'd.
I did a check of the results on Athlinks and didn't find it there either. Sometimes Athlinks has "unofficial" results that don't get updated later, thus some of Kip's DQs were still showing as valid times on athlinks. Didn't work in this case...
yes, that's true - things get posted to athlinks only after they're posted online at any website (even a fake one like westwyomingmarathon race website) and then if adjustments/DQs are made, the athlinks results are NEVER corrected afterwards (e.g. his 56min 10miler in Michigan is still on athlinks). SO yes, athlinks would be a good place to check. but i think just about all of Kip's athlinks results have been investigated by SOKLR and folks. maybe check all aliases though
At Missoula Montana marathon Kip's result was DQ before they were submitted to athlinks
http://athlinks.com/time.aspx?eventid=126931&courseid=172631
However, Kip's unofficial top 10 time of 2:49 is still listed on the local Missoulian newspaper website
http://missoulian.com/news/local/article_b0312ddc-8d00-11df-996d-001cc4c03286.html
so it's pretty clear Athlinks has a ton of shady results still lingering around on there. anyone could make up a race and get it to appear forever on athlinks.
Hard to believe that this has slipped to page three.

we're at a stand still right now. there's no new news. well, the only new news I heard Kip is currently under review by the BAA and they're going to make a a decision about him in 2-3 weeks
there was talk here about some investigating Kip at 2007 & 2009 Boston marathons but no one was really able to find much after we found him in the Jim Rhodes photos
As I stated earlier, the results were removed from the marathon after originally posted. I didn't see the person listed in the half either, so I don't think it was a mix up with a half marathon runner initially being in the marathon results. I'll leave it up to you guys to contact the RD. Thought it was interesting that I could have been a victim in this whole fiasco.
He made up races, he made up donation numbers. Get it?
