Oil companies have over 9,100 drilling permits that they are not using. Those oil companies understand that consumers are looking for alternative forms of energy. Electric cars are getting better and better all the time. More Americans are working from home than ever before. And STILL with those realities, oil production is greater under Biden than it was under Trump.
The oil industry is just an industry. It's the same as what the ice cutting industry was. refrigerators removed the need for ice cutting. Eventually the oil industry will be a shell of what it is today (still LOTS of things that are produced using petroleum even if gas vehicles go the way of the Dodo).
There are LOTS of jobs being created in wind and solar power, and many of those are in TEXAS of all places. Oil isn't a guaranteed industry. Progress in science and technology should not be a political issue. Why do Republicans always want to hang on to values from 1954? The days move forward. The calendar changes.
