I think we don't will see a WR. But I think we will see the fastest first half of a marathon. I think he will ran first half in 60:30 maybe 60.20. First half in London is always faster because off a bit downhill. And I believe he will shock his rivals especially Farah and the fast Ethiopians with a blistering fast pace from start up to make sure he had the control. But he also will pay a bit for this in the second half so I think winning yes good time also but no WR. Because it's a tactical race and the start will be to fast. But we will see...
It will depend on the weather very much. It's forecasted to be pretty hot the sunday before the race in London, let's hope it will get cooler. Unless very hot weather or going out at sub-2 pace again, the CR is in serious jeopardy.
It's a very possible scenario that the race will go out very fast. I'm sure Eliud wants to go out on world record pace, nothing slower than that. If weather is ideal then he might even require a 60:30 half split.
Also, for such an unforgiving early pace, the pacemakers have to step up to the task. Who will they be? It's not yet offically confirmed but the most probable line-up is :
#PACE1 Stephen Kiprop (58:42 half in 2019)
#PACE2 Daniel Kipchumba (59:36 half in 2019, 59:06 pb)
#PACE3 Gideon Kipketer (59:53 half pb/2:05 high marathon pb)
