You are right about the meaning of projection, I concede my oversight. However I don't want to think that I was assuming others hold the same kinds of beliefs if there might be significant segment of society not limited to this forum who holds the same kinds of beliefs as I do? Might you think that the views opposing mine could well have been the minority if we drew a larger population sample worldwide? But anyway these are all splitting hairs my main point was that it's important not to lose sight of morality in the face of supershoes, wavelight and doped track surface which are all 'immoral'.

If I need to troll for you to accept that El G was the nicest honest most lovable athlete at the point of time then I would do so only because it was absolutely true. I would take any liberty to get the truth out there.

Its not subtle enough, but the angle of the nicest honest most lovable..I have to admit its a bit funny.
I'm a psychoanalyst by confidence so when I compare the interviews of El G after Athens 2004 Olympics and all of Jakob's I definitely find the former more likeable, endearing, kind-hearted and angel-like with no exaggeration or trying to be funny. Whether El G gives his interviews in French or English, it applies the same. El G doesn't have any self-entitlement in his voice and gestures.
Wow I didn't know that. He speaks very good French though but all Moroccans speak French anyway. I suspect also his so called dull interviews is due to self-effacing beliefs about himself. He just doesn't think he should elevate himself above his competitors and Allah.
wada: *finds positive drug test from el G* *watches post race interviews* wada: well, he’s a pretty nice and good hearted fellow. This test obviously is a false positive. Let’s throw this one out.
just cuz he’s a nice dude does not mean he’s not doping buck.
You just said Jakob has to beat one of the most obviously doped records in sport to be considered great.
Now you're saying don't confuse greatness with doping.
What if Jakob isn't doping and can still get close to El G? Even if he is doping, he would only be microdosing compared to epo era El G due to the ABP and better EPO testing. According to you, shoes and tracks don't make any difference.
No such thing as microdosing. Also the EPO era never finished......
Well they haven't found a positive test from him yet so dream on. The fact remains he staunch Muslims are unlikely to dope which can be approximated as 100% clean for the purposes of our argument.
I never said Coe was not an 800m great. His astonishing records speak for themselves.
You clearly have.
You HAVE to set the world record and you HAVE to win at the BIG occasions (Worlds and Olympics).
I didn't say that. But in an event like the 1500/mile the greats won championship/Olympic titles and held at least one of the wr's, be it the 1500 or the mile. Jakob has neither and nor has he won a world championship title over the 1500 in 3 attempts. It is hard for blinkered fans to accept his limited resume over his specialty distance.

I didn't say tracks and shoes make no difference - but they don't make as big a difference as some claim, in justifying every kind of performance.
If an athlete is doping they are doping - not "partly doping". Jakob is doping. If he wasn't he would be running 3:22 for the 1500 juiced and sub 3:40 for the mile. So - no - he's doping alright.

So if I understand you correctly: By doping you get approx. five seconds down at his level. Nice. Could you please support this with some credible evidence.

Doping gains are pretty big.Id say if he ran clean hed probably do about a 3.35-3,36 1500,and somewhere between 13.10-13.20 in the 5000.

Abderrahim Goumri blows your argument up faster than a suicide bomber does.
Doping helps in the 1500m but not in the Mile? Makes sense. At least for someone like you, and that's enough.
I didn't pose that question, dumbo. But keep arguing with yourself.
What was your answer to the fact that this season so far 11 athletes have run sub 3:30 in the 1500m and just 7 sub 3:53 (worth 3:35.6) in the Mile?
Armdebil: "You have trouble distinguishing "greatness" from doping." A comment without a last rest of logical connection to the stated fact: the season is almost over, and not a single good Mile has happened.
So, your other statement actually was: to be called "great" in the 1500m, you have to set a WR in the 1500m or in the Mile and you have to win at the big occasions (Olympics, Worlds - if available). So, only a Mile WR is enough, even when the mark is weaker than the 1500m WR? OK, your strange view on the subject. But this is only valid for the 1500m, correct.
"Greatniss" in other events is determind differently. In other events no big titles are needed - according to you. Also no WR? Just in the 1500m?
Without a last rest of doubt, you are the most stupid poster in this forum, and this for sure includes childish imbeciles like Bad Wigins.

So, Kerr IS doping. Otherwise he would be running 3:24 juiced.
Walker was doping. Otherwise he would have run 3:44 low for the Mile in 1975 (with todays shoes, tracks and wavelights sub 3:43) juiced.
Coe was doping. Otherwise he would have run 1:39 with 1981 shoes and tracks and 3:24 juiced.
Snell was doping, Otherwise he would have run 1:42 on grass 60+ years ago juiced.
