most of the Republican House delegation voted to overturn the election, yes.
almost all of the Republican senators voted to acquit in the impeachment
virtually the entire R party was working to overturn the election in the courts.
Almost no elected Rs tried to get trump to stop the coup
so yes, the R party was behind the coup
Reminded today that 147 Rs in the House voted against the election results. Almost entirely because they were afraid of an OUTGOING politician.
Some of you Trumpers think that you're hurting my feelings by calling me "angry." You're not. I am. One day I wake up in midlife realizing that I live in (and served for 31 years) a country where roughly half of my fellow citizens are willing to vote for unprincipled cowards who very well may destroy our democracy.
Yep, plenty angry about that. No denial, no apologies.
I’m sincerely sorry that your life is so miserable. 🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻
If you read "right wing media" you understand the numbers in context.
If you read left wing media you think crime in cities that have been deep blue for a century are the fault of republicans...
Uh huh. Except that the *state* of Florida--governed by the GOP for decades, and with GOP mayors for its two largest cities--has a higher homicide rate than New York *City*, which has been governed by Dems for quite a while.
And NOTE that that terrible stat for Florida is for the whole state: not just its cities, but also suburb and exurbs and rural areas factored in.
Further NOTE: This post is about Florida and NYC, not about any other states or cities. No whataboutisms or other deflections, please.

The twenty cities in the United States with the highest murder rates (murders per 100,000 people) are:
St. Louis, MO (69.4) Baltimore, MD (51.1) New Orleans, LA (40.6) Detroit, MI (39.7) Cleveland, OH (33.7) Las Vegas, NV (31.4) Kansas City, MO (31.2)
Memphis, TN (27.1) Newark, NJ (25.6) Chicago, IL (24) Cincinnati, OH (23.8) Philadelphia, PA (20.2) Milwaukee, WI (20.0) Tulsa, OK (18.6) Pittsburgh, PA (18.4)
Indianapolis, IN (17.7) Louisville, KY (17.5) Oakland, CA (17.1) Washington D.C. (17.0) Atlanta, GA (16.7)
At least I'm not defending the antics of some guy shuffling around a goddam bowling alley with his pants down. I mean Jesus Christ man, where is your mind in all this? In your zeal, you seem to have forgotten the customary norms that keep our society from degrading into some kind of degenerate Roman orgy.
No one even mentioned the guy let alone defended him El Crazy Person.
Only 68% of liberals believe in God. No wonder we are at each others' throats.
But the conservative God-believers shouldn't be at *anyone's* throat, right? Right??
Or at least the Ggod-believers who identify as Christian, right? Matthew 5:44 (quoting JC): "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you."
And more than 90% of Republicans would tell you they're Christians, wouldn't they?

Picking NYC out of an ocean of murderous Democrat run hell holes is literally whataboutism...
Florida's homicide rate ranks 27th in the country. New York is 34th it's not like they are world's apart.
There are 36 major US cities with higher murder rates than Jacksonville which is Florida's most dangerous city. All 36 of them are run by Democrats.
Deep blue St. Louis is one of the most dangerous cities on the planet.
So you just couldn't keep from whatabouting? Impossible to stay on his topic? Well not really a shock there.
And of course (of course!) your "36 have a higher rate than Jacksonville, and they're all run by Dems!"--a blanket statement and NOT "hyperbole"--turns out to be false. Hey, shocker there! Not.

(skipping past the argument about whether or not it is relevant what an esteemed politician is accused of, and what the spouse of a politician does...)
I was going to ask where it was shown to be false that Jacksonville is #37 and that every city above them are run by Democrats... but then I looked it up myself and, according to the first result I saw, Jacksonville is only #45 so I guess you're right about that - and also right that he was wrong Jacksonville was the worst in Florida (West Palm beach coming in at #40, but especially Miami Gardens which comes in at #12). I feel the more important point in this discussion, though, is which of those large cities are traditionally run by Democrats and which are traditionally run by Republicans? I'm willing to guess that the vast majority are run by Democrats (because most urban areas tend to vote Democrat)...

No doubt MOST large cities are run by Dems. For many reasons. No doubt.
But I literally checked just four cities that SV had listed above and the fourth one has a GOP mayor.
The major point is that this (alleged) "Adult" has a history on this board of just throwing out "statistics" that turn out to be wrong and making blanket statements that are false--apparently in the hope that no one will catch him out. (Hey kinda like President Trump!) He's been called out for his lies before.

Feel free to check...
St. Louis, Baltimore, Detroit, New Orleans, and Baton Rouge are the top 5 most murderous major cities. All Democrat for decades.
Kansas City, Memphis, Newark, Cleveland, and Chicago round out the top 10.
All Democrat.
So far I'm 10 for 10!
Cincinnati, Mobile, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, and Pittsburgh are 11 thru 15.
14 for 15. You got me! Mobile's mayor is a Republican.
Indianapolis, Stockton, Tulsa, Washington DC, Atlanta
18 for 20. Got me again! Tulsa's a republican city. Only 90% Democrat....
Nashville, Columbus, Oakland, Louisville, Greensboro All Democrat.
23 for 25. 92% Democrat
San Bernadino, Buffalo, Norfolk, Savannah, Fort Wayne
28 for 30. 93% Democrat
Des Moines, Toledo, Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Albuquerque
32 for 36. The mayor of Des Moines is an Independent.
Only 89% of the top 36 most dangerous cities are run by Dems. Including the entire top 10.
Even more fun. The people committing the crimes in all of the cities regardless of the party in power are majority Democrat.

Detroit has a GOP mayor? Does it also have a GOP city council, and a history of being led by GOP mayors and GOP city councils?

Skipping is the same as condoning. Look, Boebert was actually there when her husband pulled his pants down at the bowling alley. She was there when he demanded that innocent people observe his genitals. She can't extricate herself from the crime scene with semantic arguments. This is imputed to her.

No, skipping the conversation is not the same as condoning. It's avoiding a conversation that doesn't seem worth holding at the moment.
But if you really insist on dragging me into this ... I feel like the actions of politicians are more important than the actions of the spouses of politicians. I'm not a fan of Boebert, but neither am I a fan of Bill Clinton or Joe Biden. If Clinton and Biden aren't doomed for their actions like Trump was, while Boebert is doomed for the actions of her spouse, I think your priorities are off. If you want to talk about how awful all of them are, and how the actions of Boebert's husband reflects on your ability to make good decisions, go for it ... but I don't have a problem with, in conversations like that, the fact that highly esteemed Democrat politicians comparatively get away with what is much worse - and they themselves are the ones that did it!
