This thread was originally titled, "Incredible development in the $612,000 Transcon Goodge run, currently ongoing" but the new title is more descriptive. The description of the run is here.
The Outside article brought me here just to say what an odd thing to care about.
Yeah, caring about athletic integrity is so last week... I suppose if integrity is meaningless, then cheating is harmless and even honorable. That's it!
And now we see the result of the Outside article. They are influencing people to believe that it's odd to care about athletic integrity. And this shows that sadly Outside magazine don't see athletic integrity as important, which is quite concerning.
If it’s top 1000 on anyone’s priority list. Well I’d love to live that comfortably.
What's the deal with people that pop into threads to say it is meaningless to them and therefore you are in idiot for caring about the topic?
Take a look at all the threads started on Letsrun each day and let me know which would meet an official definition of something worthy of caring about. Idiots.
Exactly, you could say the same thing about sport in general, or music, or any other hobby.
The Outside article shows that Will Cockrell has a personal vendetta against Goodge for not having enough "reverence" for Bruce Tulloch that Cockerell knows personally. This explains why Cockerell is such a lunatic, he has a personal agenda to destroy Goodge and Ballinger for what Cockerell sees as them not bowing down to his personal friend Tulloch that Cockerell believes should have the record forever.
So not only did Will Cockerell commit repeated fraud by claiming he did Strava data analysis he never did, Cockerell is not a neutral party and has as big of a personal bias as you can get to personally see to it that he destroys Goodge and Ballinger no matter if Cockerell has to lie or not.
If you type "Will Goodge" into google, the seventh suggested auto-fill result is "cheating". I will be interested to see if this rises up the list. Also, if you do a simple search for "Will Goodge" the results are overwhelmingly NOT about him being a lying scumbag. I suspect he is going to brazen this out for the most part. I hope not though.

There’s entertainment value in most threads. Like this one watching you honks abuse words like integrity over a circus act.

Or it’s just a clown show from the beginning. Integrity lol. Fun to make you cry babies upset though over a dude playing Forrest Gump.

It's pretty obvious, "Runner10287", that you're either a Goodge supporter, or a toxic prick. Or both. I'd love to walk into a funeral for one of your family members and say, "Why the hell are you losers getting so upset? No one else cares about your dead family member. Your dead family member doesn't affect me in the slightest. Why are you making such a big deal about it?"
In addition to the Outside article, the Bad Boy Running podcast has just released an episode (#475 - This Isn't the Trans Issue that we thought would blow up). Discussion into WG, WC and letsrun starts at 26mins 40secs.
Although discussion is somewhat brief, as apparently they retracted a previously released episode due to a complaint from WGs team. They are now considering rereleasing that episode as well.

This doesn’t look good for Balenger and Goodge. If the lads would have just played by the rules it wouldn’t have had to go this way.

Just a friendly clarification, I wouldn’t say the podcast discussion is “brief”. They talk about it for 17 minutes.
Without naming names, they essentially lay out all the facts and suspicions pretty clearly (which they agree with based on what they’ve seen). They are very diplomatic in their delivery, but it’s clear they also strongly sense something isn’t right.

why? that podcast added absolutely nothing. it may have raised awareness of the issue slightly but that’s about it.

They’re diplomatic, but then one of the lads says that he removed the previous episode to go and look into it more, which he’s now done and it hasn’t changed his opinion. Then he wraps it up with more diplomatic language, and a discussion regarding burden of proof.
I’ve mentioned this multiple times now, but the fact that RB and WG can clearly produce ‘clean’ data when pressed, yet RB basically states (in the ‘Outside’ article) that they don’t know what’s causing the weird HRs, doesn’t add up.
They must know, or have a very strong idea of, what’s causing it in order to so consistently correct it. Yet they haven’t addressed it, despite it being the primary driver of the scepticism.
Exactly this. Anyone, absolutely anyone who was consistently getting 'tech fails' like WG on the run would take appropriate measures to fix it. Wear 2 watches, RB running alongside to compare, get it on camera as evidence as many questions are being asked, wear a chest strap if only for a short while to work out whats going wrong. So many options.
The fact they did nothing is just further evidence they needed to fly under the radar and therefore less evidence for us.

I agree, I listened to it and it had nothing to add. It didn't even get the gist of the story right where it's been repeatedly shown Cockerell committed fraud for what he did for "evidence" and Cockerell's huge biases and personal vendetta to destroy Goodge for not bowing to his close friend Bruce Tulloch.
