You must be new. I wrote a 2,000+ word blog about all of this back in 2014. And yeah, then as now, the brave anons were out in force.

But I think there were others. Couldn't find that one in particular.
Some people at Guelph need to start talking publicly. Kerr and Boorsma need to make clear what their plan is to change the culture on that team. This conversation needs to go beyond just a team meeting. Their future recruiting depends on it.
I’m sure Moulton is in hiding right now, but he needs to speak up. If I was U of G brass, I would be VERY uncomfortable with Moulton being anywhere near this team going forward, considering his relationship with DST.
Nobody seems to be talking about this on Twitter. Come on people, comment!

Yeah I’m not familiar with those incidents. Can you link the blog? From what I understand of this mess the huge elephant in the room is how does Athletics Canada impartially do an investigation of DST when they're complicit with him in these past incidents. Correct?
The reason DST was fired so quickly is because he admitted to a past relationship with an underage athlete, as in a high school girl.
He brought the information forward to get ahead of the Globe article.
Because of his admission he was fired immediately.
Whether anyone else from SRTC knew about it, including Moulton, is yet to be determined.

A lot of people outside of Guelph knew, which makes it difficult to believe any long term member of Speed River of U of Guelph didn't know. They stuck around and kept reaping the rewards of the ultra aggressive and often questionable behaviour of DST and Moulton, including AC funding.
There is a big difference between DST admitting to it, and disclosing that he was going to be accused of it.
Are you sure it is the former?
1. the SB blogs were will written , precise
2. everyone knew about the high school girl situation including Moultan
3. Just as DST lawyers up , the family of the young girl can also lawyer up
4. There is no statute of limitations in Canadian criminal law, unfortunate for DST .

Wow. People need to stop making excuses and realize their were youth victims here. There are always people that know, coaches, athletes and administration that need to apologize to the victims instead of still trying to cover for DST. Firing him is not enough, this is institutional failure
Did this happen around 2009?
Likely longer than that. There was lots of “babysitting” at DST’s place when I was there

I know absolutely no facts about this situation, but I caution people that Canadian defamation laws are not as permissive as those in the US.
Additionally, the track community is small in Canada. If Dave did what he is being accused of, that is obviously terrible, but if he didn’t, then accusing him of it is defamatory and actionable.
I am not defending him, I am just cautioning people to be sure about what they are saying.
Assuming the HS confidential thing sees light of day, it fits.
As unseemly as it is for a high school athlete and an adult coach to have some non- professional relationship, it’s not necessarily a crime I’m Canada.
This hinges a lot on age of the athlete, incident dates and nature of contact, and whether a position of power is determined, and what clubs or institutions were involved.
Rules around the sexual aspects this changed 11 years ago.
This could be a career blemish - or it could be criminal charges.
Either was it’d seem a staggering lapse of judgement.
Id think the most extreme allegations will be early and mid 2000s....
A few things...
1) DST needs to come on here and make a statement...
2) Trackie is done...
3) What about the assistant coaches, I heard it was even more prevalent from them, didnt some of them marry athletes?...Or are they okay cause they arent University employees and just working for an honourarium?
4) Is it possible he had no choice but to tell because theres a pregnancy or illegitimate child involved?
Does not wanting my kids to watch a bisexual threesome at the Olympics make me a bigot?
