Joyously yes! Americans are that stupid. Used to just be a stereotype that they were idiots, now there is no denying the truth of it. Endless comedy! Watching his followers inability to recognize the daily radical changes in position, it’s remarkable. Trump owns the government shut down - his supporters love it. The next day he blames the democrats for the shut down, his supporters agree wholeheartedly. A complete and total inability to think. It’s so beautiful. Stupidity at a level almost impossible to imagine. Remember when he bashed Obama for golfing? Now Trump not only golfs more but his personal resorts see amazing profits when he does - and his supporters don’t bat an eye. He’s making himself even richer as he golfs his way through his presidency. The more his supporters lose the more they think they win, it’s the best thing ever!
About 1 in 5 voted for Trump. Millions more voted for Clinton. A few million voted for the other candidates and many millions didn't vote. A big chunk of the Trump voters just wanted a Republican in office. I think the number who voted for him in the primary is worrying, but that's an even smaller proportion. In short, Trump being President isn't so much proof that Americans are dumb, but the forces which led to success aren't conducive to desirable political outcomes.
