Yeah it was - so bizarre to actually be there, to have travelled all that way across time zones etc etc....and then scratch.
As for Sedjati, like it is what it is. We've kind of seen it all now including the rocket boosters off the final turn in a sub 1.41.5 race now.
This messageboard isn't the only one noticing - the former head of sports marketing at a pretty large brand just made the comment it's time to "pull him from Paris" ^^
I don't see how this 2k WR is FURTHER proof that Hull is somehow doping. It was a record that was way weaker than 3:50. She got 2-3 seconds under it. Now it's equalised lmao.
It's not a gimmick lmao. This is an official distance that you will find on the world athletics website, having results dating back to the 1900s atleast for Men. For the Women the 1980s. Hell, even Dibaba held this record once.
Gimmick. Let her go for the 1500 or 3000 wr if she’s feeling it.
John Walker, Steve Cram, Said Aouita, Noureddine Morceli, Hicham El Guerrouj, Jakob Ingebrigtsen, all set WRs at the distance.

I don’t know why some people have such a problem with athletes setting records in less often run events. Is it because you can’t easily contextualize how strong the performance is? As a running-stats geek I absolutely love them, they pique my imagination.
I’m 100% sure Hull would acknowledge there are women who could run faster than 5:19.70 (Kipyegon 5:14?) and I doubt she cares.

Not further proof but dispels the people who claim it was more like a one-off. She had 500 solo and while she maintained more than kicked it looked comfortable. She’s just at a new level closer to 3:51 than 3:56 obviously.
