Does anyone who speaks Rojo understand WTF he's trying to say here?
He is oddly obsessed with time gaps and conversions across races. I think, unbelievably, he's implying that having to lead the race cost Nuguse 3+ seconds. Obviously there are other explanations (e.g. Hocker is way f***ing fitter than he was at Pre), but Rojo is kind of an idiot, so he's not considering those.
lol good translation, I think you are right. Had zero idea.
We are sending a fantastic Men’s 1500 team to Paris.
This has to be one of the best mens 1500 Olympic teams this country has ever sent, right?
Certainly in the last 50-60 years.
Enjoy this people. I remember the lean years (90’s and 00’s), when a 3:40+ was enough to win, and 2nd and 3rd place were lucky to have an Olympic qualifier. That it took 3:30 to make this year’s team is just incredible, and so exciting.
Yared is WAY too good to lose as much as he does. If he had the right mentality he'd be a permanent lock for at least bronze but he might not even medal in the 1500 at this rate.
Let's take a moment to appreciate the young and promising Kessler. If he can run this fast at age 21 and still learning tactics as a new pro, I think he's got a 3:27 in him down the line and hopefully a hold medal in a future Olympics! (Also, I think because the 1500 mens field is so hot now, he doesn't get noticed/honored enough, this my shout out). And no I'm not his Mom 🤣

it's a john kellogg thing. Kellogg is a smart guy, but sometimes the brojos deify him something much more than he actually is.
Nuguse was cost some by leading. sure. but the biggest difference was that hocker is just much more race ready than he was at PRE. as he should be.
hocker took the lead so early, that if nuguse really was better than him, he could have sat and re-took the lead near the end. Hocker destroyed him on that last lap.
