Look Im not going to bash Gordon - but this is such a disaster of rankings. Where is he basing half this off of? Natalie Cook as 12th? ok she did great last year but she hasn't shown much since and hasn't opened her season yet... Rosina Machu from Gonzaga had ONE fantastic race but she's launched to 15th? Jenna Hutchins is 102nd?? When she has raced this season and looked much more like her previous self? He left off Maisie Grice from NAU but included Mia Barnett (which is widely known NOT to have eligibility) Sydney Thorvaldson 156th?? Speaking of Arkansas where is Paityn Noe who just CRUSHED her last race? Not listed??

It's batty to me
I too, do not understand.....he starts Bott at 19, drops her into the 60s after one race, and now, as you point out has Hutchins at 102 - who finished 4.5 seconds ahead of Bott in that one race! There seems no rhyme or reason!
Bush ran 17:18 at Joe piane , she is not a top5 runner at this point. Replace her with Hartman and just might get 175pts way behind nau-okst-florida.
And that assumes that Tyynismaa doesn't run as well? That's an absolute worst case scenario, with both Bush and Tyynismaa not scoring. Not likely. Henes said that Tyynismaa will race, just "later" in the season. And Bush was apparently not 100% health wise at Joe Piane. Even if, hypothetically, Bush can't get back to top form, Stephens replaces her, and then say Hartman scores around 50-60, the team score would be well below 175, probably around 90-100.

Bush hasn't been healthy since early spring. I don't know what to make of her time at Piane. If they thought she was going to run over 17 minutes, why did they run her at all? Which tells me maybe it was just a bad day but they expect her to make it back.
We're just one month into the DI cross country season and we've already seen some of the nation's best runners put on a show. Let's rank the top performances so far, for both the men and women.
Juliet Cherubet of Texas Tech takes Arturo Barrios in 19:20. Valby won in 18:58 last year. Engel of OH St was 2nd in 19:34 after being 11th at the UVA meet.

Florida's Parker Valby captured the individual 2023 women's cross country title after running a time of 18:55.2. Watch the full race here. Subscribe to the N...
Looking at the splits after the fact, both markezich & lemnegole ran fairly even, 3k/3k, but had big negative splits the final 2k.
Valby had a huge positive split 3k/3k which I was not expecting to see. One of her strengths really seems to be the fearlessness to just get out super hard and hold on.
