Leo Young and Lex Young didn’t pick their college for the coaching. If they did they would not be going to Stanford. Running was not priority and that’s not necessary a bad thing:
expect transfers over the next 6 months and Aaron Sahlman to head to UCLA
The boys team can win nationals this year without coaching, or by being coached by Lex and Leo young.
But honestly though, I don’t know what the girls team is trying to do this year but they will need coaching if they wanna do good. But whatever, it’s only a rebuilding year this year for them anyways.
They will only have 1 senior on varsity so hopefully they get a very good permanent coach next year.
I hope Steve Hawkins and Tanya Brosnan can keep the momentum going this year. One name noticeably absent from this year's group at NP is Hector Martinez. I wonder what happened to him. Brosnan has been known to make dramatic pronouncements, but even so saying that Lex (and Leo) is in 13:20 shape is mind boggling. Let's see what they actually do
I don’t think I saw Martinez at any Lex/Leo Videos. If he doesn’t run then Lex / Leo / Aaron S / Aaron C / dev all better be healthy if they want to win nationals for sure
He will have to prove himself since he isn't getting any top recruits. Interesting that his current athletes don't want to run for him.

I can definitely see UCLA and NAU as the top 2 choices for Aaron Sahlman
Silly statement because there are 300 D1 programs and Stanford will in the hunt for a national title every year. Picking Yale or Brown would have been picking for the school instead of the coach.

As someone who might want to focus on the 800, NAU would probably not be one of the top choices.
Wow you really went out on a limb for this one. You don't think they are going to be the greatest XC team of all time in 2024??
In 2024 Watson will be the only senior on varsity. In 2025 they have a chance to win nats if Sloan / Dickran / Cantu / Bernardino go to NP. Lots of time to find a 5th
And in fact, they won’t even be the best team in CA in 2024. Watch out for Yosemite CA. Their sophs went 9:34,9:34,9:49 and 10:14 in the 2-mile. Got 2 years to find another guy up there.
When the national distance powerhouse lost head coach Sean Brosnan to a college job, his wife Tanya, who had been an assistant, was tabbed to take over.
At this point, it would take him years to make the top 7 at Stanford.
His best event is the 800. Why would he care about xc?
Aaron was more competitive in XC than in the 800, he just has some natural speed but that doesn’t mean it’s his best event. He’ll probably end up being a 1500/3000 guy in college.

7th in XC, 8th in the 800m. Similar but I agree on 1500/3000
